19th C. American Lion In Love Etching, image size 8 3/4 x 13 1/4 inches, plate signed "E.S. Church N. Y. 83". Church , a painter, illustrator and etcher, was known for his anthropomorphic illustrations of animals. In this image a lion is contained by a loose vine of leaves and calmly looks into the eyes of a serene young maiden.

1856-1909, American A Wheel of Three Generations in 1884 Etching, image size 13 5/8 x 9 1/4 inches, plate size 15 x 10 inches, 1884, printed on medium weight laid paper, plate signed "Otto H. Bacher Forest City", "A Wheel Of Three Generations In 1884" on bottom of print. Bacher began etching in Cleveland in 1876 and continued his art in Munich, Paris and Venice.

1859-1923, Swiss/French Academie Nationale de Musique, Helle Lithograph, image size approx. 11 x 8 3/4 inches, blind stamp "Imprimerie Chaix" l.r., Les Maitres de l'Affiche Pl. 34, l.l., Steilen's name appears within the image, pub. August 1896, original color lithograph. A posterist of the belle epoque, Steilen started his career in 1885. Using his family members as models, including the family cat, his images depict clear and insightful concepts that remain alive to this day. This image advertises the Academie Nationale de Musique performance of Helle.

1785-1851, American American Badger and Maryland Marmot Woodchuck Groundhog, Old and Young Two hand colored period lithographs, each image size approx. 6 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches, c. 1850, drawn from nature by J.J. Audubon, drawn on stone by W.E. Hitchcock, Printed by J.T. Bowen, Philadelphia. American Badger inscribed: "No. 10" and "Plate XLVII". Maryland Marmot Woodchuck Groundhog inscribed: "No. 1" and "Plate II". Both prints feature very rich original colors, but have tape residue and toning around the edges of the sheet, not effecting the image area.

1896 - 1976, Japanese Apple Blossoms Woodblock, image size 13 3/8 x 18 7/8, print signed l.r. "Rakusan" also artist seal l.l.,titled in Japanese l.c. From "Rakusan's Flower and Bird Print 100 Series", c. 1929 - 1933. This is from Rakusan's most famous series of prints based on paintings he did between 1925 - 1929.

1837 - 1914, German/American Autumn in Virginia Oil on canvas, image size 21 x 26 1/2 inches, ornate period gilt frame, signed l.l. "Max Weyl". Born in Germany but brought to the US as a child, Weyl became one of the most popular landscape painters of the Washington D.C. area. In 1879 he traveled to Europe and was greatly influenced by the Barbizon style and for the next two decades his landscapes of the D.C. area won him renown.
