1837 - 1914, German/American Autumn in Virginia Oil on canvas, image size 21 x 26 1/2 inches, ornate period gilt frame, signed l.l. "Max Weyl". Born in Germany but brought to the US as a child, Weyl became one of the most popular landscape painters of the Washington D.C. area. In 1879 he traveled to Europe and was greatly influenced by the Barbizon style and for the next two decades his landscapes of the D.C. area won him renown.

Minor studied with Boulanger, Corot and Diaz in France, returning to the U.S. as one of the major proponents of the Barbizon school.

1862-1952, American Cabin in the Mountains Oil on panel, 8 x 10 inches, signed "Carle J. Blenner" lower left. Blenner studied art at Yale and then in Germany and France at the Academie Julian under William Adolphe Bouguereau, Robert Fleury & Aman-Jean. He taught in the fine arts departments at Columbia and Yale.

1848-1921, American Clipper Ship at Full Sail Oil on canvas, 12 x 16 inches, signed "L.D. Eldred" lower right, period frame. Eldred was born in Fairhaven, Massachusetts, and eventually settled in Boston. He studied under William Bradford at the National Academy and later shared a studio with Bradford in New York. He is best known for depictions of the New England coast and its whaling fleet.
