Fisherman's Hut

Drypoint etching, plate sighed "Ch. Jacques" in the upper left. Plate measures 2 1/4 x 3 1/2 inches on 4 1/4 x 5 1/4 inch paper. Charles Jacques was one of the leading artists of the Barbizon school.

Coastal Fishing Village

Drypoint etching after Rudolf F. Bunner. Plate monogrammed by Share in the lower right, signed by Bunner in the lower left. Pencil signed by both. Plate measures 10 1/2 x 16 1/2 inches on 15 x 19 inch laid paper. Inscribed in the lower left: "Copyright 1886 by C. Klackner, 17 E. 17th St, N.Y." This print has excellent detail, plate toning, and a rich drypoint burr.

The Old Homestead

Etching C. 1925. Pencil signed in the lower right and titled in the lower left: "The Old Homestead of Calvin Coolidge." Plate measures 9 x 10 7/8 inches on 10 1/2 x 12 1/2 inch paper. Good use of line and plate toning. The scene depicted is of Plymouth, Vermont.

Colored etching C. 1928. Catalog: Novak 483, Baker 266. Edition of 350. Published by the Societe de Graveurs Modernes, Paris. Pencil editioned in the lower left, signed in the lower right. Plate monogrammed in the bottom center. Numbered 227. Plate measures 12 5/8 x 15 inches on 18 1/2 x 19 1/2 inch wove type paper. An atmospheric print with lovely, muted colors. T. F. Simon was born in Bohemia, now the Czech Republic. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague and traveled extensively throughout Europe, as well as Asia and the U.S.

Prague, 1912

Drypoint etching from 1912. Plate measures 7 3/4 x 15 3/4 inches on 9 x 17 inch paper. Pencil signed and dated in the lower right with the word "imp," indicating that the artist printed it themselves. Plate signed in the lower left. 3rd State. An atmospheric print with good use of plate toning.

Brompton Oratory, South Kensington

Etching from 1910. Catalog: Forster 30. Plate measures 12 1/4 x 8 3/4 inches on 15 x 11 inch laid type paper. Pencil signed in the lower right. This scene in London of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, otherwise known as the Brompton Oratory. The domed building in the background is the Royal College of Arts, where Anderson was studying at the time. Edition of 58. A finely detailed and well inked print with a rich drypoint burr.

Oyster Dreckers

Etching from 1924. Catalog: Hurst 87. Edition of 75. The scene depicts some oyster dredgers on Buzzon (or Besom) Creek, near Briscoe's home in Colchester. The oyster industry there is now endangered, but Briscoe has captured it well. Signed in ink in the lower right, numbered "39" in the lower left. Plate measures 6 1/2 x 10 inches on 8 1/2 x 11 1/4 inch laid paper. A fine impression with good use of plate toning.
