This is a fine pencil signed lithograph by French impressionist Edmond Francois Aman-Jean.  This image measures 13 3/8X14 5/8 inches.  Very fine condition, printed on a wove type paper.  The subject is Mile Moreno  who played in  the Comedie Francaise show this image was created and printed in  1898

This is an original drypoint etching by French artist Alphonse Legros.  The subject is: "La Ferme de Brieux" (Farm at Brieux in a storm)  The image, pencil signed, measures 7 1/16X13 1/16 inches.  Printed on a thick wove type paper.  Catalog H 84, III state, an edition of 50.  A very rich impression with a rich burr.  Created circa 1890's.

This is a fine impression of the well known Seymour Haden etching, The Towing Path.  Created in 1864, this impression done in drypoint and etching is the 7th state of 12.  This etching measures 5 9/16X8 1/2 inches.  Hand signed in pencil and printed on a medium weight laid type paper.  The French title is: "La Promenade Au Bord De L'Eau"  This image appears in the Schneidermann catalog as image number 72  VII/XII.

This is an oriignal etching, pencil signed by British artist Mortimer Menpes (1855-1938)  The title is: Under the Bridge, Japan, Nagasaki.  This etching was created and printed in 1896 in an edition of 50 impressions.  This has the "imp" after the artist's name which means that he printed this impression himself.  The image measures 4X11 7/8 inches.  It appears in the Morgan catalog as image number 165 I/III.  Printed on a light weight laid type paper.

Plate measures 10 x 7 3/4 inches on 16 1/4 x 12 1/8 inch watermarked laid type paper. State V/VIII. One of his six final plates, later chosen for publication in the review "L'Art" in 1904, volume LXIII. Catalog: Melot 122. Circa 1877. Printed in the lower right: "Ch. Daubigny. del. et. sc", in the lower right: "F. Lienard. Imp. Paris."

This is a fine drypoint etching by French artist Alphonse Legros, the title is: Le Jardinier (The Gardener).  This image appears in the Bliss catalog as image number 554.  This pencil signed impression measures 6 7/8X10 1/4 inches, printed on a medium weight laid type paper.

This is a fine original drypoint etching by French artist Alphonse Legros.  The title is: Coin d'u bois  (Corner of the Wood), created circa 1890.  This pencil signed image measures 11 7/16X8 7/8 inches.  It is printed on a medium weight laid type sheet.  It appears in the Bliss catalog as image number 229.

This is an artist proof drypoint etching by Sir Frances Seymour Haden.  The title: The Keep, is of Corfe Castle  in Dorset England.  This image was created and printed in 1877and is the third state of five.  It is inscribed as "Early Proof lower left and hand signed in pencil lower right.  The image measures 5 15/16X8 15/16 inches.  Printed on a light weight laid type paper.  This image appears in the Haden catalog as image number S-158.

This 1861 etching by Johan Barthold Jongkind measures 5 1/4 x 7 1/4 inches, plate signed, framed. D-14, early proof before letters, 1/III.

Etching and drypoint on copper, image size: 5 1/2 x 8 5/16 inches, dated 1877, State V, cat. Scheniderman-172, pencil signed lower right. One of Haden's interests apart from being a Surgeon and printmaker was fishing. He created a number of outstanding scenes based on river fishing, his most famous being "The Complete Angler" and "Grayling Fishing." This is a wonderful example of building a composition centered on this well-known fishing hole. Provenance: Baldwin-Wallace College.

This is a very rare pencil signed etching by Sir Francis Seymour Haden; it is an early proof, from before the edition published in Hamerton's 1880 'Etching and Etchers'. The image size is 5 1/2 x 7 7/8 inches, 1877, cat: Schneiderman-161, plate signed and dated, pencil signed, a very rich impression on a laid type paper, framed. Sir Francis Seymour Haden was one of the most important British etchers of the 19th century, along with his brother in law James Whistler. In addition to being a highly regarded artist he was a successful surgeon, accomplished author and dedicated angler. He was a founder and the first president of the Royal Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers, and was knighted in 1894. Haden created a number of remarkable etchings featuring scenes of fishing in the British countryside, of which this is one of his finest.
