The edition is 330 impressions. The image measures 15 5/8X11 7/8 inches. Jacoulet moved to Tokyo Japan and was influenced both by the Asian subjects that he encountered and the modern Japanese woodblock printing of the 20th century.

This is an original color woodblock print by French artist Paul Jacoulet. The title of this work is: "Le Lotus Noir,Chine". This image was created and printed in April 1959. It is quite rare and one of his most sought after images. Only 60 were printed. It has his Peony seal and is pencil signed mid right side. The image measures 15 1/2X12 inches. This rare image is in very fine condition however the borders had been trimmed in the past, with just a bit showing at the bottom with the title. The colors are very good.. One of his best! This image appears in the Miles catalog as image number 159.
