This is a fine hand signed etching by American Artist Stephen Parrish. The title of this work is "Evening, Gloucester, 1883". The image measures 8 5/8X14 inches. This image appears in the Schneider catalog as image number 77. "To the right of the mast is the tower of the 1869 City Hall, still standing, Next to the right is the sharply pointed spire of the Baptist church, now gone. At the far right are the buildings of the Rocky Neck Marine Railways." Fine use of plate tone in the sky and sea.
This is an original Arthur Briscoe etching, titiled: "Heavy Canvas", this etching was created and printed in 1931 in an edition of 75. The image is hand signed in pen and ink and editioned in the lower border. The image measures 13 1/2X8 3/8 inches. The subject shows four men making fast the crossjack of a four masted barque. This etching is archivally framed.
This is an original watercolor on Ivory painting, circa 1820. This miniature came to us sealed in a bronze frame with domed glass. The image measures 4 1/4X3 1/2 inches. The painting is signed lower right, Cales....? Possibly French in origin, there appears to be some minor foxing on the work, its possibly just on the glass inside, but this work is sealed up and weve been unable to open it. The backing appears to be of tortoise shell. Overall in good shape a bit of damage to the floral design at the top of the frame. Our photo shows reflection on the left and right edges of the painting, these do not appear on the original artwork.

This is an original pencil signed etching by American artist Stephen Parrish. This etching titled: "Gloucester Harbor", also known as "Rainy Day Gloucester", was created and printed in 1882. It is a rare work, one of the few that Parrish did after another artists composition. This was after the painting by W.M. Hunt. Hunt's initials are etched into the plate lower left. The image measures 13 1/8X19 3/4 inches. Printed on a simulated parchment wove type paper, laid onto a thicker sheet. This is an early signed proof but done without the sailboat remarque . This etching appears in the Schneider catalog as image number 74. From the artists catalog, "June 1882, From the head of the harbor,looking south, In the right foreground, an old black hulk" beyond wharves and shipping and part of the town....In mid distance Five Pound Island."
Etching with aquatint, image size 7 7/8 x 10 7/8 inches, 1918-1919, state VII/VIII, cat: Czestochowski-69, alternate title "Far Prospect," pencil signed, framed. Davies was a truly remarkable artist of the late 19th and early 20th centuries known for his dreamlike etchings and lithographs. In his catalog raisonne of Davies work, Czestochowski writes "In a time of social, political, scientific and artistic upheaval, Davies hewed to an unwavering inner vision, one of classically graceful figures in an eternal dance with nature." This rare, early state etching is a perfect example of the combination of classicism and modernism of Davies' work.

This is a beautiful original landscape by American artist Roi Partridge. Etching, image size is 8 3/4 x 11 5/8 inches, published in 1950 in an edition of 154 for the Society of Print Connoisseurs, pencil signed. This etching appears to be an early proof apart from the published edition, as there is no blindstamp from the Society of Print Connoisseurs. Partridge grew up in Seattle and was a member of "The Triad", along with John Butler and Claire Shepard Shisler; before traveling to study art in New York at the National Academy of Design, and then to Paris, where he studied etching with Bertha Jacques. In 1915 he settled in California where he married photographer Imogen Cunningham.

This impression is pencil signed lower right border and also monogramed and dated in the plate. The image measures 11 3/4X6 inches. Printed in an edition of 300. This image appears in the SASOWSKY catalog as image number 204. This engraving is archivally framed.
This is a rare original etching by Francis Seymour Haden. The title is: "Yacht Tavern, Erith", it was created and printed in 1865. The image measures 9 1/2X15 inches, hand signed in pencil lower right border. "Etching on Zinc", This is the second state of four. Annotated as "trial A"
According to Schneiderman, page 225, "Erith, on the south bank of the tidal waters of the lower Thames, is approximately twelve miles east of London, opposite Purfleet." Haden etched this extensive landscape and Erith Marshes (see above) in the company of his friend, the famous French painter-etcher, C.F.Daubigny. Good condition margins trimmed to 1/4 inches wide on three sides.

Measuring 11 1/4 x 9 1/4 inches, "The Fisherman's Home" is very similar to Strang's painting of the same name from 1905 which is owned by the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford. This richly inked print from the Baldwin-Wallace College collection is also signed in pencil by the artist along the lower right edge of the image.

A very rich impression with nice use of plate tone in the street and sky. This etching is inscribed as the 2nd state. This etching was created before 1933. This etching is nicely framed with archival materials.
This is an original woodblock print by Latvian American artist Isac Friedlander. The title of this work is: "Under the Arch", it was created and printed in 1937. This image is editioned as 1/10, a very rare image. It is hand signed titiled and editioned in pencil in the lower margin. The image mesures 9X8 1/4 inches, printed on a handmade japan type paper. Isac Friedlander (1890-1968) was born in Latvia. In 1912 he went to Italy where he met and worked with Russian artist Maxim Gorky. During this period he also received his only art training, studying etching, drawing and relief printing at the Academy of Rome. In 1937, he emigrated to New York where he worked full time as an artist until his death. He is best known for his woodcuts and etchings, and many museums have works by the artist, including the Smithsonian, Bibliotheque Nationale, and the Brooklyn Museum.
