This is an oil on canvas painting by British Marine artist George Knight. The image of sailboats on a windy day has a canvas size of 10X14 inches. It is obscurely signed lower left. It came to us in an early heavy period gilt frame. The painting is framed underglass. The frame has some chipping mostly on the edges. The painting has a few minor touch ups. A fine example of a British School marine scene.
This is an original oil on tin painting of a young woman. It is apparently unsigned and so we are calling this 19th century American School. The painting measures 8X7 inches, it came to us in a period gilt frame which measures 12 1/2X11 1/2 inches. Expertly painted, this is a fine example of 19th century American portraiture.
This is an original oil on canvas painting by German American artist Hugo Breul (1854-1910) This painting is signed lower left corner. The canvas measures 9X6 inches. The frame is 10 1/2X7 1/2 inches. A fine rich multi layer amber glazing to the portrait. Very well captured. In what appears to be the original early Whistler style frame. We feel that this painting dates from the late 1890's.
This is an original watercolor on Ivory painting, circa 1820. This miniature came to us sealed in a bronze frame with domed glass. The image measures 4 1/4X3 1/2 inches. The painting is signed lower right, Cales....? Possibly French in origin, there appears to be some minor foxing on the work, its possibly just on the glass inside, but this work is sealed up and weve been unable to open it. The backing appears to be of tortoise shell. Overall in good shape a bit of damage to the floral design at the top of the frame. Our photo shows reflection on the left and right edges of the painting, these do not appear on the original artwork.
This is an original watercolor painting by Massachusetts artist Polly Nordell (1876-1958) This painting is signed lower right corner, it is a view of a Street in Cape Ann, Ma. The painting circa 1920 has an image size of: 16X13 inches, in what appears to be the original frame with the Gloucester label on the back. "Mother Ann Picture Parlor". The painting is in very good condition, the frame could use some touchup. A nice hand done french mat.
Nordell was the wife of artist and printmaker Carl Nordell. She studied under Henri at the Art Students League and the Academie de la Grand Chaumiere, Paris. She taught at the Fenway Studios in Boston
This is a painting by Danish artist Carl Erik Baggoe. It is a Nocturne study of a sidewheeler and sailing ships by moonlight. The painting is signed lower left and dated 1877. The medium is a combination of watercolor, ink and pencil. Painted on a medium weight stiffened paper. The painting is blued toned monochromatic, The painting measures 4 5/8X7 inches. Nicely framed.

This is an original small oil on board painting by American artist Franz Fleig. Signed lower right this painting has an image size of 4 1/4X5 1/2 inches. Fleig was a member of the New York Society of Independent artists in 1938. This painting is framed in what appears to be the period frame that the artist used.
