This etching was created in 1754. This is the third state from the first edition. A similar state of this image was found at the Harvard Art Museum. The image measures 15 1/4X23 1/2 inches. It is printed on a laid type paper with a circular watermark in the center. This image is in the Hind catalgo as image 4 iii/vi. A fine impression with the typical fold in the center.

This is an oil on artist's board by American artist George A Hays. This scene of 4 cows resting on a summers day has an image size of 8X10 inches, signed lower left. This painting has an early label from Providence Art Club on the back. Also the date of 20 written on the back. Hays was best known for his Lanscapes with cattle. He lived in New Hampshire and later in Providence RI. He was a member of the Providence Art Club, where he exhibited from 1888 to 1940; Society for Independent Artists, Copley Society, and Providence Watercolor Club.
Original etching and drypoint by French artist of the Belle Epoque era, James Jacques Tissot. The title is: L'Ete, this image was created and printed in 1878 in an edition of 100 unsigned proofs. The image measures 14 3/4X8 3/8 inches. Printed on a cream toned laid paper. The sitter is Kathleen "Kate" Newton (1854-1882), Tissot's Irish muse and mistress from 1871-82. Tissot portrayed her as a personification of summer in this etching. This image appears in the Wentworth catalog as image no. 43...A very fine impression in an archival picture frame.
This 1927 marine etching by the British printmaker Arthur Briscoe measures 9 7/8 x 15 7/8 inches, hand signed in inked and editioned as 58/75. Briscoe studied at the Slade Art School and the Academy Julian in Paris and then spent the rest of his time sailing, becoming one of the most prominent British marine artists of the 20th century. He owned his own three ton cutter which he used to sail around the Essex coast. Also crewing on a Polish ship, he sketched every aspect of life on the boat. Most of Briscoe's etchings show sailing ships and the men who sailed them. His beautifully etched images present an invaluable historical record of the workings of the last great commercial vessels.

This is a very fine Hudson River School landscape, oil on academy board, 9 3/4 x 18 3/4 inches, c. 1880s, unsigned, in an ornate period gilt frame. Although this painting is unsigned it is quite well painted, evidently by a very competent artist.

It is hand signed in pencil and also has the artist's estate stamp in the lower left border. This is Parrish's only etching with such complete remarques. Showing the influence of French artist Felix Buhot. The remarques revel Parrish's lively sense of humor, showing sketches of books with such titles as Philadelphia as a Summer Resort, Etching in Summer and other gems. This is a very rare etching by Parrish, and is from a trip he took to Fecamp in 1884.
This is a scarce original pencil signed etching by American artist Stephen Parrish. The title of this work is: "The Harbor of Cannes, 1886" . This image was created when in November of 1885 Parrish arrived in Cannes. "The harbor was so beautiful that it inspired this etching." (R.S.) The image measures 11 7/8X18 5/8, printed on a medium weight wove paper called "Imperial Japan". Excellent original condition, a rich warm tone to the sheet. This etching was last sold by Hermann Wunderlich, the label appeared on the back of the frame, this etching is currently matted, not framed. An excellent rich impression.. This image appears in the Schneider catalog as image number 116.
This is a rare etching by British artist Sir Francis Seymour Haden. This etching and drypoint is titled: The Fisherman. It was created and printed in 1864. Hand signed in pencil which is quite rare for this image. Printed in a warm toned ink, the image measures 5 1/2X8 7/16 inches. This etching is the 5th state of 5 with extensive use of plate tone in the water and sky. Haden was an avid fisherman, and apart from doing etchings and being a well respected surgeon, he spent his spare time fishing across Britain. This etching is matted and framed.

This is a very rare early proof etching by Jacques Villon titled "La Pedicure". The image size is 9 1/4 x 6 1/2 inches; this print was published in 1907 in an edition of 50, although this is an early state before the published edition. It is pencil signed and notated "Essai" which translates as "test" or "trial". This image is very richly inked with beautiful plate tone and has several of the artist's fingerprints in black ink around the edges of the sheet, all away from the image. This is a truly remarkable early state etching by a very important 20th century artist and would make an excellent addition to any serious collection.
This is an original oil on artist board by American artist Stanley Woodward. The title and date is inscribed on the back of the work. Summer Seas, Ogunquit, Maine, 1942. The painting measures 12X16 inches. Nicely framed, clearly signed in the lower right corner. Woodward had studios in both Rockport and Ogunquit Maine.
