This is a beautiful, intimate etching by the renowned French Barbizon artist Jean Francois Millet (1814-1875). The image size is 6 x 5 1/8 inches, plate size 7 1/4 x 6 1/4 inches, state V of VI, cat: Delteill- 17, plate signed and dated. This etching, based on the painting of the same name, was created by Millet for the 'Gazette des Beaux-Arts' in 1861. This is a very richly inked inked impression, printed on a medium weight laid type paper with ample margins.
A great sporting etching by Frank Benson, this image measures 14 x 10 7/8 inches, 1922, cat: Ordeman-213, pencil signed. A very rich impression on a medium weight laid type paper. Frank Benson was a very successful painter and a member of "The Ten" along with Childe Hassam and J. Alden Weir, before he began the sporting paintings and etchings for which he is most widely known. He was a founding member of the Boston Guild of Artists and a long time teacher at the Museum School in Boston. In 1912, at the age of 50, Benson began his etchings and drypoints, mainly of wild fowl which he depicted with expressive lines and rich toning that exquisitely captured the life and energy of the wild birds. His etchings were in high demand from the very start, and have remained favorites for collectors ever since.
This is one of the most impressive etchings by American artist Stephen Parrish. It is titled: "A GLOUCESTER WHARF", it was created and printed in 1886. It was one of three plates that Parrish did exclusively in dry point. The image is quite large, measuring 17 7/8X11 7/8 inches, printed on a medium weight wove type hard paper, A beautiful impression with extensive use of plate tone in the sky and sea. Printed with brown ink, fine condition. The Oil,Sounds & Livers advertised on the building are important fisheries products. Sounds are fish air bladders ground up for use in making isinglass. This is an original tempra painting on artist board by German artist Max Feldbauer. This painting, At the Train Station, is identified on the back of the board with labels from both "Karl Schneider in Munchen" and also "Original der Munchner Jugend, Munchen"..The painting appears to be unsigned, but possibly appears to have a faded signature in the lower left. The painting has an image size of 12X18 inches. Nicely Framed.. Very rich colors and in good condition. An interesting post impressionist style circa 1890-1900.
This is a fine original pencil signed etching by Swedish artist Anders Zorn (1860-1920) The title of this work is "Alder", a fine study of two nudes from his Series on Nude Bathers. This etching was created and printed in 1917, it appears in his catalog as Hjert & Hjert number 282. The image measures 7X4 3/4 inches, printed on a laid type paper with watermark. Very nice condition, printed with a warm toned ink.
This incredible image by the British etcher, Arthur Briscoe, measures 8 1/8 x 15 3/8 inches, inked signed and numbered, 73/75, created in 1931. Briscoe studied at the Slade Art School and the Academy Julian in Paris and then spent the rest of his time sailing, becoming one of the most prominent British marine artists of the 20th century. He owned his own three ton cutter which he used to sail around the Essex coast. Also crewing on a Polish ship, he sketched every aspect of life on the boat. Most of Briscoe's etchings show sailing ships and the men who sailed them. His beautifully etched images present an invaluable historical record of the workings of the last great commercial vessels.
This is a quite rare original lithograph by American artist Leonard Baskin. It was created between 1973-1974 in the Boston Studio in collaboration with lithographer Herb Fox. This image is not in the Fern O'Sullivan catalog. The image measures 11X10 inches. This lithograph is hand signed in pencil, inscribed as A.P. lower left and has the Herb Fox blind stamp in the lower margin. Beautifully framed with archival materials.
This is a very rare original etching by American sporting artist Frank W Benson. The image size is 7 7/8 x 9 7/8 inches, published in 1921 in an edition of 100, cat: Ordeman-205, pencil signed, titled in the lower margin. There is some old masking tape residue in the margins, but this is outside of the image area and will be covered by a window mat. This print is quite scarce, and an unusual subject for Benson; in most of his images the landscape serves as a backdrop for wildfowl or hunters but in this etching he focuses on the land and river, creating an atmospheric summer scene.
This etching by the well known Welsh artist, Augustus John, measures 3 7/8 x 3 1/8 inches. It is pencil signed and framed, with artist provenance on Kennedy Galleries label on backing. Cat: Campbell Dodgson 107 V. Augustus John was a painter, draughtsman and etcher, known for his brilliant figure drawings, his work being compared to Gauguin and Matisse.

This is a beautiful sun drenched scene of Havana, Cuba by Scottish artist James McBey. Etching, image size 6 7/8 x 12 7/8 inches, 1940, plate signed and dated, hand signed and numbered "XXXVIII" in ink. Born into poverty McBey was primarily self-taught, becoming a very well respected artist and leading figure of the British Etching Revival. He traveled extensively throughout Europe, America and the Middle East, creating remarkable etchings of the places he visited.
This is an original etching and drypoint by British artist Sir Francis Seymour Haden. The title is: "A Sunset in Ireland", created in the park of Viscount Hawarden in Tipperary. it was created in 1863. The image measures 5 1/2X8 1/2 inches. Pencil signed lower right border, This is state X from the total of XIV. Nice rich velvety impression. Printed on a medium weight wove type paper.

This remarkable etching is one of Eby's finest prints, and is featured on the front cover of the Giardina catalog. The image size is 8 5/8 x 15 5/8 inches, published in an edition of 100 in 1931, cat: Giardina-168, pencil signed "Kerr Eby imp", the 'imp' indicating that Eby printed this impression himself. This image is one of several landscapes Eby made depicting his house in Westport, Connecticut and with it's rich tonal range and vivid contrasts, it is by far one of his most impressive images. This etching features a very richly inked impression on a medium weight watermarked wove type paper.
