This is an original etching by American artist Joseph Pennell.  The title of this etching is "Madison Avenue" also known as "Rebuilding Madison Avenue".  This etching was created and printed in 1923 in an edition of 50 impressions.  This proof is hand signed in pencil by the artist with the "imp" after his name meaning that he printed this impression himself.  It is printed on an antique laid type paper.  The image measures 12X9 1/8 inches.  The image appears in the Wuerth catalog as image number 811.

A rare working proof by American sporting artist Frank Benson, this etching measures 9 7/8 x 7 7/8 inches, published in 1922, cat: Ordeman-165, proof C-2, pencil signed below the image, titled "Black Ducks No 2" and inscribed "C-2" in the lower margin. Frank Benson was a very successful painter and a member of "The Ten" along with Childe Hassam and J. Alden Weir, before he began the sporting paintings and etchings for which he is most widely known. He was a founding member of the Boston Guild of Artists and a long time teacher at the Museum School in Boston.

A fine original etching by American Sporting artist Alden Lassell Ripley. The title of this work is "Goose Shooting", created circa 1930, this etching is hand signed and titled in pencil lower border. The image is quite large, it measures 8 1/2X13 3/4 inches. This etching appears in the Lamb catalog as image number 64. A rich impression showing platetone in the water and sky, nice use of drypoint as well.

This is a rare lithograph by American artist Ture Bengtz.  The title is "Cocoon", it is the third state of three.  The subject is a man napping on a bench in the Boston Common.  The image is pencil signed lower border and numbered as 20.  The image measures 11X16 3/4 inches. The Boston statehouse in the  far distance.

This is an original wood engraving by Latvian-American artist Isac Friedlander.  The title of this work is Exodus, it was created and printed in 1931.  Pencil signed this image measures 9 1/4X12 inches.

Isac Friedlander (1890-1968) was born in Latvia. In 1912 he went to Italy where he met and worked with Russian artist Maxim Gorky. During this period he also received his only art training, studying etching, drawing and relief printing at the Academy of Rome. In 1937, he emigrated to New York where he worked full time as an artist until his death. He is best known for his woodcuts and etchings, and many museums have works by the artist, including the Smithsonian, Bibliotheque Nationale, and the Brooklyn Museum.

Pencil signed and editioned in the lower border. This etching is in very good condition apart from having the borders trimmed to within 1 inch of the platemark. Enough room for proper presentation. This etching came to us in an early frame with the Kraushaar Gallery, N.Y. label on the back.

An evocative image of WWI by American artist Harold Kerr Eby, this etching with drypoint measures 8 1/4 x 11 3/4 inches, pencil signed in an edition of 60, second published state, 1919, Giardina cat: 29. Eby's WWI experiences in France lead to this richly inked image of infantry marching through the results of war.  Very richly inked with drypoint burr.

This Joseph Pennell etching measures 11 3/4 x 8 3/8 inches, pencil signed, 1904, cat: Wuerth 324, probably in an edition of 25. Pennell was an important American etcher, lithographer and illustrator. Good friends with James McNeill Whistler, he and his wife co-authored his biography. Pennell was known for his continued experimentation with technique and style, producing cityscapes, landscapes and marine scenes. He also printed many of his own images.
