This is a fine original woodblock print by German Expressionist, Conrad Felixmuller 1897-1977. The title is Self Portrait in City Landscape, Dresden. This large pencil signed impression was created and printed in 1930 in an edition of 50. The image measures 19 5/8X15 3/4 inches, printed on a medium weight wove type paper. Very fine condition. Felixmüller was one of the youngest members of the New Objectivity movement. His paintings often deal with the social realities of Germany's Weimar Republic. He was mentor to the German Expressionist Otto Dix. In the 1930s, many of his works were seized as degenerate art by the Nazis, and destroyed.

This portrait: Élégante au grand Chapeau et à la Fourrure, (Elegant woman with a large Hat and Fur) Was created and printed in 1907, pencil signed and published by "Bischoff and Hofle Munchen, 1907" blind stamped in the lower right border. The image measures a platemark of 21 1/2X13 1/2 inches. Printed in a warmtoned ink with hand coloring added. This is a very rare example of his drypoint portraits. We were unable to find any other examples of this image in galleries or museums. Framed.
This is a fine Belle Epoque portrait in drypoint by French artist Paul Cesar Helleu. The subject is: Madeleine Chéruit. This image measures 15 1/2X11 1/2 inches, hand signed in pencil by the artist in the lower right border. This drypoint is housed in a Foster Brothers period gilt frame.. Madeleine Chéruit was one of the most fashionable French dressmakers of her time. Her house of courture took inspiration from the Belle Epoque through to the Jazz Age.

This is an original hand colored drypoint etching by French artist Paul Cesar Helleu. The title: Femme en profil avec un chapeau. measures a plate mark of 21 1/4X13 1/4 inches. Hand signed in pencil lower right, a superb, richly inked impression with bright colors. Printed on a heavy wove type paper. Helleu began his art career when he enrolled at the Ecole des Beaux Arts and worked as an apprentice for Theodore Deck, decorating ceramic plates with women's portraits. He became friends with many artists of La Belle Epoch, including John Singer Sargent, Whistler, Tissot, Monet and Rodin, and became well known for his elegant portraits of women of French society. He traveled between France and America, and in 1912 was commissioned to create the astrological ceiling decoration in New York's Grand Central Station.

One of 6 pencil signed impressions prior to publication in L'Architectures in an edition of 500 unsigned impressions. The image measures 11 5/8X8 1/8 inches. Hand signed in pencil lower left. Very nicely framed with a linen matting. This is one of his largest images done in his distinctly cubist style.

This is an impressionistic original color etching and aquatint by French master of the Belle Epoch, Manuel Robbe (French 1872-1936) The title of this work is:
"Le Bouquet de Violettes", it was created and printed in 1903 in the first edition of only 65 signed proofs. A larger edition was published after the signature was added to the plate. This etching is hand signed in pencil lower right. The image measures 17 1/2X11 3/4 inches. A fine impression, previously sold by Merrill Chase galleries, it appears in the Chase catalog as image number 105. Robbe studied at the Academie Julien and the Ecole des Beaux Artes in Paris.
