This is a very fine original etching of a hardworking woman carrying water by German artist Lesser Ury. The image size is 5 1/2 x 3 5/8 inches, 1923, pencil signed. Ury was a German Jewish artist known for his impressionistic paintings and etchings. He was best known for his scenes of Paris as well as a series of etching depicting the Dutch countryside and people.

This is an original drypoint etching by British artist Edmund Blampied. The work is titled: "Night Time in Dieppe, created and printed in 1926, editioned as 62/100. The image measures 7 3/4X10 3/4 inches. Fine use of plate tone on the street and background. A rich feathered Burr. A very fine and atmospheric image.

This richly inked etching of St. Martin's Bridge near Toledo, Spain, by Sir Frank Brangwyn, measures 19 3/4 x 23 3/4 inches, pencil signed, 1923, printed in two color ink, black and brown. Sir Frank Brangwyn was one of the most important British artists of the early 20th century. A member of the Royal Academy, the Royal Watercolor Society, and the Royal Society of British Artists, he was knighted in 1924.

"Brixham Trawlers" by Arthur Briscoe measures 5 3/8 x 13 7/8 inches, published in 1929 in an edition of 75. Printed in sepia toned ink on Whatman laid paper, it is ink signed and numbered and also plate signed, dated and titled. Briscoe is known as the finest marine etcher of the 20th. century. He owned his own three ton cutter which he used to sail around the Essex coast. Also crewing on a Polish ship, he sketched every aspect of life on the boat. He studied at the Slade Art School and the Academy Julian in Paris. His name became internationally renowned when his works sold to the New York market.

Elyse Lord lived her entire life in Britain and although her work shows a strong Asian influence, she never actually traveled the continent. Her inspiration instead came from Chinese literature, artwork and her own imagination. Her unique style uses fine drypoint lines and delicate, yet vibrant colors to create images that that have a serene, almost dreamlike quality. She was a member of the Society of Graver-Printers in Colour and the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours and showed her work in many exhibitions including at the Royal Academy, Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours, Royal Scottish Academy, Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool, and the Paris Salon.

This 1921 original etching by the British artist, Ernest Lumsden, measures 14 3/8 x 8 1/2 inches, pencil signed, dated in the plate, 1921. Rotherhithe, meaning "a mariner's haven", in southeast London, was the first place that docks were constructed for the convenience of the Londoners.

This is a beautiful color etching and aquatint by Austrian artist Luigi Kasimir.  The title is "Vienna Opera House". It was created and printed in 1922.  It is dated in the plate, "October 1922".  The image is large measuring 18 1/2X15 3/4 inches.  Very nice condition, a rich impression.

A vibrant scene of a bustling Prague street, this etching and aquatint in colors measures 13 3/4 x 16 1/4 inches, published in 1910 in an edition of 200, cat: Novak-124, pencil signed with the artist's stamp in red ink in the lower margin. T. F. Simon was born in Bohemia, now the Czech Republic. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague and traveled extensively throughout Europe, as well as Asia and the U.S. He lived in Paris from 1905-1913, then returned to Prague to teach at the Academy of Fine Arts. Simon was an exceptional painter and printmaker, and is best known for his atmospheric color etchings and aquatints.

A fine detailed etching by British printmaker, William Lionel Wyllie. Created c. 1915, it measures 6 1/2 x 14 3/4 inches and is pencil signed on the l.l. This is a great image of yacht racing in the Solent, where Cowes Week is an annual sailing event. Wyllie was a well known marine painter and printmaker, studying at the Heatherley School of Fine Art and then at the at the Royal Academy. At the age of 18, Wyllie won the Turner Gold Medal for his painting "Dawn After A Storm". He went on to have a long artistic career, specializing in paintings and etchings of the sea and the city of London.
