From his French Church Series #47, this 1947 award winning etching by John Taylor Arms measures 13 3/8 x 6 7/8 inches, pencil signed and dated, edition of 198, state II, cat: Fletcher-47. This image won five major awards between 1947 and 1951 including 1st Prize at the Annual Exhibition of the Chicago Society of Etchers in 1949. John Taylor Arms was one of the foremost American printmakers of the 20th century, known for his exquisite compositions and exacting details which gave his etchings a very realistic, almost photographic appearance.

This 1927 marine etching by the British printmaker Arthur Briscoe measures 9 7/8 x 15 7/8 inches, hand signed in inked and editioned as 58/75. Briscoe studied at the Slade Art School and the Academy Julian in Paris and then spent the rest of his time sailing, becoming one of the most prominent British marine artists of the 20th century. He owned his own three ton cutter which he used to sail around the Essex coast. Also crewing on a Polish ship, he sketched every aspect of life on the boat. Most of Briscoe's etchings show sailing ships and the men who sailed them. His beautifully etched images present an invaluable historical record of the workings of the last great commercial vessels.

This is an extremely detailed etching by American master John Taylor Arms.  This image titled: "Limoges" was created and printed in 1932.  It was part of his series on French Churches.  The image measures 10 1/16X13 5/8 inches, printed on a blue toned laid type paper.  The etching is pencil signed and inscribed as "Ed 100 III"

This is a very fine impression of the well known Whistler etching, "The Rag Gatherers", created and printed in 1857, this etching is plate signed, on the right side of the image. The image measures 6X3 1/2 inches. It is the fifth state of 5 with the edition of the two children in the interior space. This etching came to us framed with the Kennedy Galleries label on the back. Excellent condition, apparently printed on an antique laid type paper.

The title of this work is "Chantez Matines,le jour renait"< (Sing Matins, a new day is born) This etching was created in 1922 as part of the Miserere series. This is plate number 29. It was published by Vollard in an edition of 450. It is signed lower left corner of the image. This etching was never pencil signed. It appears in the C& R catalog as number 82d., The image measures 20 X 14 5/8 inches. Nice condition, a line of toning in the border from an earlier window mat.

The platemark measures 24 1/4 17 1/2 inches. It was published in an edition of 450 on arches wove type paper by Ambroise Vollard. His Vollard watermark appears in the sheet. The etching is signed and dated in the image in the lower right. This etching was never hand signed by the artist.

This etching was published by Ambroise Vollard in an edition of 450 and has his Vollard watermark in the sheet. The image is plate signed G. Rouault,1923 lower left in the image. This etching was never hand signed by the artist. It appears in the Wofsy catalog as image number 124. The platemark measures 22X17 inches, The condition is excellent no tears, or stains. This etching is not framed.
