This is an original etching by French Master Georges Rouault. The title of this work is: "Sunt lacrymae rerum " ( There are tears in things ) This etching and aquatint was created for the Miserere series in 1926 as image number 27. . The platemark measures 24 1/4 17 1/2 inches. It was published in an edition of 450 on arches wove type paper by Ambroise Vollard. His Vollard watermark appears in the sheet. The etching is signed and dated in the image in the lower right. This etching was never hand signed by the artist.

This is an original etching by American artist Stephen Parrish.  The title is A Gale at Fecamp, it was created and printed in 1886.  The image including the remarques measures 13 3/4X15 3/4 inches.  It is hand signed in pencil and also has the artist's estate stamp in the lower left border.  This is Parrish's only etching with such complete remarques.  Showing the influence of French artist Felix Buhot.  The remarques revel Parrish's lively sense of humor, showing sketches of books with such titles as Philadelphia as a Summer Resort, Etching in Summer and other gems.  This is a very rare etching by Parrish, and is from a trip he took to Fecamp in 1884.

This is a rare etching by British artist Sir Francis Seymour Haden.  This etching and drypoint is titled: The Fisherman.  It was created and printed in 1864.  Hand signed in pencil which is quite rare for this image.  Printed in a warm toned ink, the image measures 5 1/2X8 7/16 inches.  This etching is the 5th state of 5 with extensive use of plate tone in the water and sky.  Haden was an avid fisherman, and apart from doing etchings and being a well respected surgeon, he spent his spare time fishing across Britain.  This etching is matted and framed.

This is a scarce original pencil signed etching by American artist Stephen Parrish.  The title of this work is: "The Harbor of Cannes, 1886" .  This image was created when in November of 1885 Parrish arrived in Cannes.  "The harbor was so beautiful that it inspired this etching." (R.S.)  The image measures 11 7/8X18 5/8, printed on a medium weight wove paper called "Imperial Japan".  Excellent original condition, a rich warm tone to the sheet.  This etching was last sold by Hermann Wunderlich, the label appeared on the back of the frame, this etching is currently matted, not framed.  An excellent rich impression..  This image appears in the Schneider catalog as image number 116.

A great sporting etching by Frank Benson, this image measures 14 x 10 7/8 inches, 1922, cat: Ordeman-213, pencil signed. A very rich impression on a medium weight laid type paper. Frank Benson was a very successful painter and a member of "The Ten" along with Childe Hassam and J. Alden Weir, before he began the sporting paintings and etchings for which he is most widely known. He was a founding member of the Boston Guild of Artists and a long time teacher at the Museum School in Boston. In 1912, at the age of 50, Benson began his etchings and drypoints, mainly of wild fowl which he depicted with expressive lines and rich toning that exquisitely captured the life and energy of the wild birds. His etchings were in high demand from the very start, and have remained favorites for collectors ever since.

This is an original pencil signed etching by American Ash Can artist John Sloan.  The title is Bandit's Cave, it was created and printed in 1920 for the New Republic.  It was created in an edition of 500.  The image measures 7X5 inches, full margins, in very nice condition.  It appears in the Morse catalog as image number 195.

This 1928 original etching by Arthur Briscoe measures 13 3/8 x 8 3/4 inches, pencil signed and numbered, 10/75, cat: Laver 116, plate titled and dated, published by H.C. Dickins. This spectacular image was created at the height of Briscoe's popularity, depicting the dangerous and challenging daily routines aboard a seafaring vessel. Briscoe studied at the Slade Art School and the Academy Julian in Paris and then spent the rest of his time sailing, becoming one of the most prominent British marine artists of the 20th century. He owned his own three ton cutter which he used to sail around the Essex coast. Also crewing on a Polish ship, he sketched every aspect of life on the boat. Most of Briscoe's etchings show sailing ships and the men who sailed them. His beautifully etched images present an invaluable historical record of the workings of the last great commercial vessels.

This is an original drypoint etching by British artist Edmund Blampied.  The title is: "The Butterfly", it was created and printed in 1928 and is editioned as 25/100.  The image measures 9 5/8X7 7/8 inches, pencil signed lower right and printed on a cream laid type paper with the F.J. Head watermark.  Very fine condition, this is one of Blampied's most impressive images.  It appears in the Appleby catalog as image number 133.

This is a fine original lithograph by German artist Lovis Corinth.  The title Tal Grund (The Valley) from the series  Vorfruhling im Gebirge (early spring in the Mountains).  It was published by Euphorion Verlag, Berlin in 1922 in an edition of 125 impressions.  This was part of a series of 5 lithographs.  The image measures 12 3/4X17 inches.  Printed on a medium weight wove type paper.

This is an original hand colored lithograph by American artist Don Freeman.  The title is: "To see the mayor".  This image was created and printed in 1937 in an edition of 25, far fewer were hand colored by the artist.  This image is pencil signed, the image measures 12 1/8X9 inches.  According to the catalog: "On his weekly radio program, Mayor La Guardia encouraged new Yorkers to bring their complaints to him personally.  Freeman drew a group of constituents making appointments with the mayor's secretary"  This lithograph is framed.
