Boston Harbor, 1857

This is a hand colored line engraving after J.W. Hill, engraved by Charles Mottram and published by Smith Brothers and Co. in New York, 1857.  The image measures 24 1/2X38 1/2 inches.  Plate signed and dated in the lower margin.  " It is one of the loveliest views of Boston and its harbor, with the statehouse dome rising in the center background and the Bunker Hill Monument at far right. Printed by Mc Queen."  A very fine impression, framed.  It had a couple of very minor touchups, but overall in very nice condition.
