This is a fine impressionistic etching by American artist Stephen Parrish.  The subject is: Evening on the Schroon, It was created and printed in 1880.  Pencil signed, this impression measures 8 3/4X15 1/4 inches.  A rich impression with fine use of plate tone.  Printed on a light weight japan type paper.  This image appears in the Schneiderman catalog as image number 19.  The Schroon River is in the Southern Adirondacks and is a tributary of the Hudson.
