Sunset,New York Harbor

Original 19th century etching by New York etching club member Henry Farrer. The title of this work is Sunset, New York Harbor. This etching was created in 1879. The etching is signed and dated in the plate lower left. This plate was apparently printed in a German edition, in the lower right is printed, "Original Radirung von H.Farrer". A fine and detailed composition, well printed with nice use of plate tone in the sky and water. The image measures 7 3/4X11 1/2 inches. Printed on a medium weight wove type paper, very nice condition.

Late Sunlight on the Cliffs

Original etching, drypoint and aquatint by American Southwestern printmaker, Gene Kloss. The title of this work is: "Late Sunlight on the Cliffs", it was created and printed in 1941 in an edition of only 75.
This etching is hand signed and titled in the lower border. The image measures 13 3/4X10 3/4 inches. Printed on a medium weight wove type paper, very nice condition. A rich and very expressive
image. Kloss at her very best!

An original etching by American artist Kerr Eby. The title of this work is: "Cider Mill", it was created and printed in 1940 in an edition of 100. The subject is a Cider Mill in Connecticut. Beautiful use of plate tone in the sky to contrast with the white snow. Eby was a master at capturing the bright snows of winter in New England. The image measures 7 1/16X12 3/4 inches. The etching is hand signed by the artist with his "imp" after his name meaning he printed the proof himself. The image appears in the Giardina catalog as image number 201.

Castle of San Juan De Ulua Vera Cruz

Original Plate signed etching by American Artist Thomas Moran. The title of this work is: "The Castle of San Juan de Ulua ,Vera Cruz" It was created and printed in 1884. This etching has an image size of 11 X 9 1/2 inches. Nice use of plate tone in the sky and water. Printed on a medium weight wove type paper, full borders all around, illustrated in the Gilcrease catalog as image number 49, 3rd state of 3, from the Cassell portfolio "Twenty American etchings".. 1884 This fortress guards the entrance to the harbor of Vera Cruz.

A drypoint etching from 1965. Number 4 out an edition of 10. Publisher's blindstamp in the lower left. Catalog: Fern and O'Sullivan 489. Pencil editioned in the lower left, signed in the lower right. Plate measures 9 x 12 3/4 inches on 15 1/2 x 18 3/4 inch medium wove paper. Baskin was an important artist in the mid 20th century, known for his evocative wood engravings, lithographs, and etchings.
