This photogravure by Albert Goupil was taken from a limited edition, eight volume, folio sized set of books entitled “Art of the World,”. Published by the French art gallery Boussod, Valadon & Co. in 1893. The original painting was by Guillaume Dubufe and was originally exhibited at the World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago in honor of the 400th anniversary of Columbus' discovery of the new world.
