This is a very fine copper engraving by American artist Armin Landeck.  The title is East River Construction, created and printed in 1941 in an edition of 100.  This engraving is pencil signed by the artist and measures an image of 8 1/8X12 3/4 inches.  Printed on a medium weight wove type paper.  It appears in the Kraeft catalog as image number 85.  Very fine condition.

This is an original etching by British artist Samuel Palmer.  The title is "The Early Ploughman"  It was created in 1861.  The image measures 5 1/4X9 7/8 inches.  THis is the 6th state of eight.  Printed on a medium weight laid type paper.  Partial watermark visible upper left.  This image appears in the Palmer catalog as image number VII.

This is a fine color woodblock print by American artist Helen Hyde.  The title is: A Day in June.  The image was created and printed in 1910.  The image measures 14 1/2X6 1/2 inches.  Hand signed in pencil lower right.  This image appears as the cover on the Helen Hyde catalog as published by the Smithsonian Institution Press in 1991.     Helen Hyde traveled to Japan in 1889.  In Japan, Helen Hyde learned the Japanese woodblock printing techniques from masters such as Emil Orlik, a European living in Japan. Hyde resided in Japan from 1903 through 1913 and refined color woodblock printing to a fine art. During this time, Hyde also traveled extensively to China, India, and Mexico.  Slight toning to the sheet, a thin Japan type paper.  A fine example of Hyde's Japanese work.

This is an original pencil signed etching by American artist Isac Friedlander. The title of this piece is "Whitter", a view of the aftermath of the war. This etching was created and printed in 1945 in a very small edition of only 30 signed proofs. This one is inscribed as a "Trial Proof #3", the image measures 10 7/8X12 3/4 inches. printed on a medium weight laid type paper. Isac Friedlander (1890-1968) was born in Latvia. In 1912 he went to Italy where he met and worked with Russian artist Maxim Gorky. During this period he also received his only art training, studying etching, drawing and relief printing at the Academy of Rome. In 1937, he emigrated to New York where he worked full time as an artist until his death. He is best known for his woodcuts and etchings, and many museums have works by the artist, including the Smithsonian, Bibliotheque Nationale, and the Brooklyn Museum.

A very fine original etching by American sporting artist Aiden Lassell Ripley, image size 8 3/4 x 13 7/8 inches, c. 1930, pencil signed and titled. Ripley studied at the Boston Museum School under Phillip Hale and Frank Benson, then spent several years traveling throughout Europe. He became quite well known for his landscapes and sporting scenes, and also worked throughout his life in wildlife and endangered species preservation. He was a member of many prestigious artist groups of the 20th century, including the National Academy of Design, the American Watercolor Society, and the Audubon Artists; he served as the president of the Boston Guild of Artists from 1959 to 1969.
