This is an original etching by Italian artist Giovanni Battista Piranesi (1720-1778) The title is" View of the Interior of the Basilica of Saint Peter at the Vatican. This etching was created in 1754. This is the third state from the first edition. A similar state of this image was found at the Harvard Art Museum. The image measures 15 1/4X23 1/2 inches. It is printed on a laid type paper with a circular watermark in the center. This image is in the Hind catalgo as image 4 iii/vi. A fine impression with the typical fold in the center.

This was created and printed in 1773. It is from the first state of 3 before numbers. From his series Vedute di Roma. The image measures 18 3/4X28 1/4 inches. Printed on a medium weight wove type paper with circular watermark and the typical fold in the center. Very fine condition, Cataloged at Hind 104.

It was created and printed in 1756. The image measures 14 1/2X20 1/2 inches. This is an early life time impression, printed on a medium weight laid type paper with a circular watermark. This image was part of the series Le Antichita Romane. The image has the center fold typical of this series.
