Le Gamin, The Street Boy

This is an original etching by the well known father of Impressionism, Eouard Manet.  The title of this etching is:

"Le Gamin", (the street boy)  This was printed in 1862 as part of the second state.  It is printed on an antique laid type paper with watermark in the center.  It is signed in the plate upper left   The image measures 8 1/8X5 3/4 inches.  We believe this to be an early proof of the second state done before the edition of 600 which were printed on wove type paper.  The margins have been trimmed to within 1/8 inches one two sides, a bit more on the bottom and right side.  A richly inked impression of this important image.
