Snow Farm

This is an original etching by American artist Ernest Haskell.  It is titled: "The Snow Farm", it was created circa 1923.  The image measures 5 7/8X8 3/8 inches.  Hand signed in pencil lower center.  "The Snow Farm is an equally thoughtful study of the interaction of land and sky: trees march friezelike across the flat landscape, while freely drawn clouds suggest movement. Three minuscule birds sway in gusting winds above stationary farmhouses. Haskell pointed to this interaction in his caption: “Cloud movement, in contrast to topographical lines, pure etching.”
