This is a very fine etching by American artist John Taylor Arms.  The title is: Venetian Mirror, The Grand Canal, Venice,  created and printed in 1935 in a combined edition of 169, printed by David Strang.  The image measures 6 3/8X14 1/8 inches.  The image is part of his Italian Series and appears in the Fletcher catalog as image number 289.  This etching is hand signed in pencil and numbered II  from the second state of two. Printed on an  Ivory laid Whatman handmade sheet.

This is a fine original oil on canvas painting by French impressionist artist Adolphe J.T. Monticelli (1824-1886)  The subject is A fine family setting at the Beach.  The painting is signed Monticelli lower right, the painting measures 12 1/4X10 1/4 inches.  This work is in fine condition, cleaned and lined in the past, it is very presentable, it is house in an ebonized black frame.  "Monticelli was born in Marseille in humble circumstances. He attended the École Municipale de Dessin in Marseille from 1842 to 1846, and continued his artistic training in Paris, where he studied under Paul Delaroche at the École des Beaux-Arts. In Paris In 1855 he met Narcisse Diaz, a member of the Barbizon school, and the two often painted together in the Fontainebleau Forest. Monticelli frequently adopted Diaz's practice of introducing nudes or elegantly costumed figures into his landscapes."

This is one of the finest etchings by American artist James Whistler.  This image titled: "Black Lion Wharf" was from his Thames series created in 1859.  This image measures 5  7/8 X 8 3/4 inches. Printed on a laid type paper with watermark.  This is an early printing between state iii/iv of iv.  Very richly inked with extensive plate tone throughout.  Very good condition, signed and dated within the plate at the right side of the image.

This is an original oil on canvas painting by American 19th century painter, James Mcdougal Hart.  This work is titled: A Bit of Cherry Valley.  It is signed lower left "J.M Hart"  It came to us in a period gilt frame with the brass name plate.  The painting itself measures 17X21 inches, the overall frame measures 24X29 inches.  Influenced by his older brother, William M. Hart, and with him is highly regarded as an important member of the second generation of Hudson River School landscape painters. Hart's family came to America in 1831,  After the 1870s, he and his brother William opened studios in Keene Valley, NY, in the heart of the Adirondacks. James' paintings often feature cows watering amidst an idyllic summer landscape.  Cherry Valley is a town in Otsego CountyNew York,

This is a rare color etching by American artist John Taylor Arms.  The title is: Early Morning, North River, created and printed in  1921.  This color impression was printed in an edition of only 25 impressions.  It was also printed in Black and White in an edition of 100.  The image measures 9 1/2X7 1/2 inches.  Very good condition Signed in pencil lower right.  Created with a combination of etching and aquatint.  This image appears in the Fletcher catalog as image number 100.

This is a fine impression of the well known Whistler etching, Bibi Lalouette, created in 1859.  Cataloged as Kennedy 51, II/II  .  The image measures 9X6 inches, printed on a thin Japan type sheet,  "This curly-haired little boy sitting on the edge of a bed comes from a series of portraits that Whistler made in 1858-59. Known by the pet name of Bibi, the child was son to J. M. Lalouette who ran a small hotel and restaurant at 5 rue de l'Odéon in Paris. Whistler often ate there and left a large unpaid bill when he moved to London. In August 1860 he sent partial payment, eliciting a relieved response from Monsieur Lalouette that mentions Bibi often talked of the artist, and noting the family's pride in their own impression of the present work". This is an original oil on board painting by Canadian artist Albert Edward Cloutier ((1902-1965) Signed lower center, this painting has an image area of
29X35 inches. It came to us in what appears to be the original frame with the Walter Klinkhoff Gallery,Montreal, label on the back. The title of this work is:
"Winter Lac Ouimet, Mont Tremblant", it is a view of the Laurentian Mountains of Quebec. Albert Cloutier was a painter, commercial artist and muralist who grew up in Montreal. He also lived in Ottawa and during his time as a war artist was posted in several locations in eastern Canada. He was a member of the R.C.A. and also the CSGA. He moved to Saint-Hilaire, Quebec in 1959 where he lived the rest of his life. His mediums were primarily oils and graphics. His subjects were landscapes, commercial art and (during the war)the military. His style was expressionist and greatly influenced by the Group of Seven.
He studied art under A.Y.Jackson and Edwin Holgate. And from 1955 until 1965 he taught at the École des Beaux-Arts in Montreal.

This is a large original oil on canvas painting by Gloucester artist Theodor Victor C. Valenkamph.  This painting of a Square Rigger measures 28X36 inches.  Signed lower right T.V.C .Valenkamph.  Also identified on a brass plaque.  The over all frame measures 34X44 inches.Valenkamph was a Gloucester Artist known for his Marine paintings.  He died in 1924.  This painting is in fine condition.

This is an original oil on canvas by American Barbizon artist Charles Harry Eaton.  This Riverview at Twilight has an image size of 18X24 and is signed lower right corner. "American painter, Charles Harry Eaton, was born December 13, 1850. His first exhibition was at National Academy of Design, New York.

He won a gold medal at the Philadelphia Art Club in 1900, exhibiting The Willows. The same work was exhibited at the Paris Exposition in 1889, and at the World's Fair in Chicago, in 1893.

Eaton was elected an Associate member of the National Academy of Design in 1893. He died August 4, 1901."

This is an original etching by American artist James M Whistler.  The title is "Eagle Wharf", this image was created and printed in 1859.  Signed and dated within the plate.  The image measures 5 7/16X8 5/16 inches.  It is printed on a thin Japan paper which is rare.  This is the only known state before the plate was cancelled.  Its is from is series of Sixteen etchings on the Thames. Francois Vuagnat was born in Geneva in 1826. and died in 1910. He was a well known Artist and Photographer. Housed in a 19th century frame with gold liner.
