Summer Light

This watercolor of two crab apple trees by Dexter Dawes measures 12 x 16 inches and is pencil signed and dated 1948. Dawes was born in Englewood, NJ and went on to study at New York City's Art Student League. He summered in Marlboro, NH surrounded by beautiful gardens with views of Mount Monadnock which became the inspiration for many of his lithographs and paintings. He belonged to a number of associations including the National Arts Club.

Monadnock View

This hilltop view of Mt. Monadnock by Dexter Dawes, measures 10 1/4 x 13 3/4 inches and is pencil signed and dated 1932. Debussy's Clouds

Watercolor on paper, image size 13 1/4 x 18 1/8 inches, 1950, signed and titled in pencil, l.r. This is a study for the painting, "Debussy's Clouds," which was featured on the program for the Kansas City Philharmonic Orchestra's concert in December 1950.
