Lithograph, image size 6 x 7 1/4 inches, 1858, plate signed and dated. William Morris Hunt was one of the earliest American lithographers. He was also a painter, and studied the French Barbizon style in Europe with Millet, a close friend. Hunt is widely credited with bringing the Barbizon style of painting back to the U.S.

This is a rare original lithograph by American artist and lithographer William Morris Hunt. The image size is 7 1/2 x 5 5/8 inches, published in a small edition in 1857, after the painting by Hunt which is now in the collection of the MFA Boston. William Morris Hunt was one of the earliest American lithographers. He was also a painter and studied the French Barbizon style in Europe with Millet, a close friend. Hunt is widely credited with bringing the Barbizon style of painting back to the U.S.

This is an original drawing by American artist William Morris Hunt 1824-1879.  This drawing of a Violinist  is signed lower left corner, also identified as Mrs Thaxter, Celia Thaxter his close friend.  The drawing done on a textured artist board is dated on the back July 20th 1876.  The image done in charcoal, pencil  has an image size of 10 3/4X 8 3/4 inches.  It has been shown in an earlier show as titled The Violinist.  Hunt was a close family friend to Celia and died during a visit to Appledore Island in 1879...  On the backing board there is an inscription, From Katherine Thaxter to Joseph Frost, 1945...
