This is an original pencil signed lithograph by American artist Helen Noel.  The title is: The Nude and the Nun, created and printed circa 1930's.  The image measures 14 1/4X10 inches, printed on a Besingwerk watermarked sheet.  Helen Noel was employed in Chicago's District 10 Art Division of the Works Progress Administration WPA Federal Art Works Program.

This is a fine original pencil signed lithograph by American artist Gordon H. Grant.  The title is Home Port, created and printed in 1940, published by Associated American Artists in New York.  The edition was 232.  The image measures 9X11 1/2 inches.  Clearly signed lower border, beautiful condition.  

Gordon Hope Grant was born in San Francisco and educated in Scotland. After Scotland Hope studied at the Heatherly and Lambeth Art School in London and returned to San Francisco where he worked as an illustrator for local newspapers until 1896, when he moved to New York as an illustrator.

Later in life Grant lived on Rocky Neck, Gloucester, MA for 20 years. Here he focused on the harbor and its surroundings for much of his work. 

A member of numerous professional societies, his work is held in important collections nationwide, including the Corcoran Gallery of Art, Washington, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York.

This fine cityscape by Anton Schutz, created in 1930, measures 14 x 9 3/4 inches. It is an artist proof, second state and pencil signed. Schutz worked with Joseph Pennell at the Art Student's League and was known for his east coast cityscapes.

Plate signed in the lower left, pencil signed in the lower right. Plate measures 8 x 9 3/4 inches on 9 5/8 x 11 3/4 inch wove type paper. Good use of plate tone with a rich drypoint burr. Meyerowitz studied at the National Academy of Design in NY and is best known for his development of producing etchings in color. His work is at the Metropolitan Museum of Art; Carnegie Institute; National Academy of Design; Harvard University and the Library of Congress.

Balthazar.  The subject is: The Wadsworth Barn in Hartford.  Created and printed in 1945.  Hand signed in pencil and editioned as 24/100  The image measures 7 7/8X 10 1/4 inches.  Printed on a medium weight wove type sheet.  This image was  the 1949 Presentation print published by the Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts.  An early larger image was created a few years earlier.
