THe image measures 6X4 1/8 inches, the frame measures 13 1/4X10 1/2 inches. "Melgers was born in Groningen where he lived and worked until 1933. He studied at the Academy Minerva and from 1933 on he was in Amsterdam. He was skilled as a woodcut artist as well as a painter. Melgers is loosely associated with "de Ploeg"
