This 1886 etching by Lucien Dautrey measures 9 1/2 x 13 1/4 inches. It is plate initialed and pencil signed on the l.r. Dautrey was a distinguished pupil of Courtry and Felix Bracquemond and a member of the Society of French Artists.
This is an early proof of an etching by Frank Benson. The title is: Marshes at Evening, created and printed in 1918, this is one of only three early proofs before the published edition. The image measures 9X11 inches. It appears in the Ordeman catalog as image number 131. This etching is in poor condition, broken platemarks, the back is covered in old glue. a few spots showing through. This is however a rare impression and the image does look good.
