A fine example of the Drypoint work of French artist Jacques VIllon. The title of this work is :"L'Epingle A Chapeau", the hat pin. This image was created and printed in 1909. The image is editioned lower left as 12/20. A rare image. The drypoint measures 15X12 inches, printed on a medium weight, watermarked, laid type paper. very fine condition, a rich impression showing a velvet burr of ink throughout the figure.
This drypoint is clearly signed in pencil by the artist lower right border.

This fine color etching and aquatint is by French artist Manuel Robbe.  The title is: Les Bibelots.  It is hand signed in pencil lower left within the image.  Very rich impression, the image measures 19 5/8X13 3/8 inches.  Printed on a medium weight laid type paper with the "arches" watermark.  Numbered as 46 from the edition of 100.

This is the famous self portrait by the Belgian printmaker, Jules de Bruycker.  The setting is within his studio with a view of Ghent behind.  The artist at work, this image was created and printed in 1925 in an edition of 125.  The image measures 15 1/4X11 1/4 inches, printed on a wove type sheet which measures 22 1/2X15 1/2 inches.  Hand signed, inscribed  and dated in pencil in the lower margin.

This is an extremely rare lithograph by American artist Louis Lozowick.  The title is: Skating, a view of Central Park in Winter.  This image is hand signed and titled in pencil.  It was published in an edition of 10 or less For the Federal Art Project, New York City.  In the bottom border next to the title is a very faint, faded, WPA stamp.  There is some old glued residue at the upper back of the sheet, it is not visible on the image side.  Overall in very fine condition.  This image appears in the Flint catalog as image number 139.  Printed on a medium weight wove type sheet.

A fine color aquatint etching by French artist Manuel Robbe.  The title Naiade, was taken as The Water Nymph, after a painting by Henner.  This image was created and printed in 1912.  It was published by Georges Petit in Paris in an edition of 200.  The image which is pencil signed measures 14 7/8X23 3/8 inches.  The publishers copyright information in the upper left corner just above the image.  "Manuel Robbe (1872-1936) was a brilliant printmaker who masted the aquatint technique. He was born in Paris, shortly after the Franco-Prussian War. He soon began studies at the Lycees Condorcet with Louis Legrand. In the early 1890’s Robbe enrolled at the Academie Julian and later, at the prestigious Ecole des Beaux- Arts. Here, he learned the intricacies of etching and aquatint from master etcher Eugene Delatre. He exhibited regularly at the Salons of Societe des Artistes Francais and in 1900, he received a bronze medal at the World’s Fair for his contribution to printmaking."

Menpes.  The title is: Portrait of Whistler with the Monocle, created and printed Circa 1880.  This etching measures 7 1/4X5 1/4 inches.  Pencil signed, printed on an antique laid type sheet.  The signature has the "imp" after the artist's name meaning that he printed this impression himself.  Printed on an antique laid type sheet.  'Born in Adelaide, South Australia, Mortimer Menpes came to England in 1875. By the time of his momentous meeting with Whistler in 1880, Menpes had already established a considerable reputation as an etcher. Through his friendship with Whistler, Mortimer Menpes learnt the finer techniques of etching whilst, in return, he assisted ‘The Master’ in printing his first Venice Set.' (Campbell)

This is an original oil on canvas painting by American artist Gifford Beal.  The image is titled on the back on the original  label from Kraushaar Galleries in New York.  Flowers in a Paper.  The painting is initialed lower right "G.B."  The canvas measures 10X12 inches, it came to us from the Beal family in the original hand carved Frame with the D.Matt label on the back.  The painting is quite bright with some texture in the flowers. The frame itself measures 20X17 1/2 inches.

Original etching and drypoint by French artist of the Belle Epoque era, James Jacques Tissot.  The title is: L'Ete, this image was created and printed in 1878 in an edition of 100 unsigned proofs.  The image measures 14 3/4X8 3/8 inches.  Printed on a cream toned laid paper. The sitter is Kathleen "Kate" Newton (1854-1882), Tissot's Irish muse and mistress from 1871-82. Tissot portrayed her as a personification of summer in this etching. This image appears in the Wentworth catalog as image no. 43...A very fine impression in an archival picture frame.

This is a fine pencil signed and dated  lithograph by American artist Yasuo Kuniyoshi.  This image created and printed in 1928, has an image size of 11X6 inches, printed on an ivory toned chine colle, adhered to a thicker supporting sheet.  This lithograph is numbered as 28/30.  Very fine condition apart from a line of toning in the border where an earlier window mat once lay.  Catalog as Davis L-30.

This is an original Edward Steichen photograph printed as a Photogravure by Alfred Stieglitz as a supplement to Camera Work created and printed in 1906 in a series titled, The Steichen Supplement.  This work done on a thin Japan type sheet measures 6 3/8X7 1/8 on a sheet size of 11 1/4X8 1/2 inches.  This work is nicely framed with archival materials.  Edward Steichen was a key figure of twentieth-century photography, directing its development as a prominent photographer and influential curator. Steichen came to the United States in 1881. He painted and worked in lithography, before undertaking photography in 1896, and first exhibited photographs at the Philadelphia Salon in 1899. Steichen became a naturalized citizen in 1900 and after exhibiting in the Chicago Salon, he received encouragement from Clarence White, who brought him to Alfred Stieglitz's attention.

This is an original watercolor, gouache and pencil drawing on illustration board, of two Nude Sunbathers by New York artist Gladys Rockmore Davis.  This drawing is hand signed in pencil lower image.  It measures an image of 7 1/2X12 1/2 inches, custom framed with archival boards.  The frame measures 17 1/2X22 1/2 inches.  Davis  was an American artist who worked in both commercial and fine arts. She gave up a career in advertising art to work in creative painting. Her chief subjects are children, nudes, and still lifes. She also painted ballet dancers, vignettes of liberated Paris, and scenes of Spain.  This work is in fine condition.
