Assenheim in New York.

This is a fine original etching by American Ex Pat, Mary Cassatt.  The title is: Looking into the Hand Mirror, No. 3.  It was created and printed in 1905, done in drypoint on an antique thin laid type paper, unsigned as typical of this image.  The image measures 8 3/4X5 1/4 inches.  This image appears in the Breeskin catalog as image number 202.  Very light toning to the sheet, some imperfections in the paper from when it was produced, unobtrusive .  A fine impression of this well known image.  "Mary Stevenson Cassatt was an American painter and printmaker. This is a fine original lithograph by American artist William S. Schwartz.  The title is: Portrait of the Artist's Wife and her Grandfather.  THis lithograph was created and printed in 1929.  The image measures 21 1/4X16 5/8 inches.  Hand signed in pencil lower left and also signed within the plate.  William S. Schwartz was born in Smorgon, Russia, February 23, 1896.  He immigrated to the USA at the age of 17 and became a successful artist moving to Chicago and studying at the Art Institute.

This is a fine original mezzotint by British artist Sir Francis Seymour Haden.  This image is "Grayling Fishing" created and printed in 1897.  This etching, pencil signed lower right measures 7 1/2X11 3/4inches.  This is the second state of five.  Printed on a medium weight wove type paper.  The image appears in the Schneiderman catalog as image number 227.  A fine rich impression.  Haden was an avid fisherman, this was one of his subjects, the famous fishing streams in the United Kingdom.  Which included On the Test, The Compleat Angler and Fishermen on the Thames.

This is an origiinal etching by California artist Armin Hansen.  The title is: Returning Fishermen, created and printed in 1925.  The image pencil signed  and titled and measures 6X7 7/8 inches.  Fine condition, printed on a medium weight laid type sheet.  This image appears in the White catalog as image number 74.  "Armin Carl Hansen (1886–1957) was an American prominent painter of the en plein air school, and a native of San Francisco, best known for his marine canvases. His father Herman Wendelborg Hansen was also an artist of the American West. Armin Hansen studied at the California School of Design (now the San Francisco Art Institute), and in Europe. He achieved international recognition for his scenes depicting men and the sea off the northern coast of California. He was elected an Associate to the National Academy of Design in 1926"

This is an original mezzotint engraving by Dutch artist Jacob Gole (1660-1737)  This image, The Drawing Lesson was created after the painting by Godfrey Schalcken.  This image identified in the lower border has an image size of 9 3/4X7 7/8 inches.  Printed on an early laid type paper, some foxing but overall very fine condition.  It has a collectors seal in the lower border, "H de t stat".

This is a fine hand colored etching by British artist Elyse Ashe Lord.  The title is Kite Flying, created and printed circa 1925.   This pencil signed impression was sold by Arthur Ackermann in New York.  This came to us in the original Asian style frame with the Ackermann label on the back.  The image measures 12 7/8X18 inches.  The overall frame measures 20X26 inches.  Very fine condition.  Printed on a thin Japan type sheet.

This is an original lithograph by American artist John S. deMartelly.  The image, Old Moon was created and printed in 1938 and sold by Associated American Artists in New York.  The image measures 10 1/8X13 3/4 inches.  One of his best regionalist images.  Much in the style of Thomas Hart Benton of whom the artist knew and worked with  while at the Kansas City Art Institiute in the 1930's and early 40's.  This lithograph is framed with the AAA label on the back.
