George Wright studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia, Paris and Munich before settling in New York where he was an illustrator for Harper's and The Saturday Evening Post. He exhibited at the Art Students League and was a member of the Salmagundi Club and the Society of American Etchers.
