20th Century European Prints

Etching, image size 8 7/16 x 11 7/8 inches, pencil signed and titled, framed

This is an original pencil signed wood block print by British artist George Soper.  The subject is a Horse with a cart resting on the side of the farm building.  The image measures 5 3/8X7 5/8 inches.  Printed on a thin Japan type sheet.  Soper was an artist who mostly depicted Rural life in England.

Etching and drypoint, image size 6 7/8 x 10 7/8 inches, 1925, plate signed l.r. "Martin Hardie", signed "Martin Hardie" l.r. in pen, titled and identified on the backing.

This etching is plate initialed in the lower left. Plate measures 3 3/8 x 5 7/8 inches in a 10 1/2 x 12 1/2 inch black frame from Kennedy & Co, label on back. A well inked impression with plate toning. Sir David Cameron was considered one of the greatest British etchers of the early 20th century. He was born in Glasgow, Scotland and began studying art at the Glasgow Art School before moving on to the Edinburgh School of Art. He was a member of the Royal Academy, the Royal Society of Painter-Etchers, the Royal Society of Painters in Water-Colours, and the Royal Scottish Academy. He was eventually knighted for his contribution to British art.

This is an original etching by Scottish artist Ernest S Lumsden.  The title is: Mapledurham, it was created and printed in 1911 in an edition of 20.  The image measures 4 3/4X6 1/2 inches.  Printed on a light weight laid type paper..Hand signed in pencil in the lower border.  This image appears in the Copley catalog as image number 118.

This is an original drypoint etching by British artist Bernard Eyre Walker.  This impressionist view of a River with cattle on the far bank is pencil signed by the artist and dated 1920 in the lower right corner of the image.  The image measures 9 3/4X13 3/4 inches.  Printed on a thin Japan type paper.

This is an original pencil signed wood block print by German artist Erwin Lang.  The subject is:  The Tower of St. Stephen's, created and printed in 1925.  The image measures 11X7 1/4 inches.  Printed on a medium weight watermarked laid type sheet.

This is an original etching by French Artist Georges Gobo (1876-1958)  This image of Women Harvesting Potatoes is hand signed in pencil, numbered 15/30 and has an image size of 7 3/4X11 5/8 inches.  It is framed with archival boards.

This etching by the Czech artist, Tavik F. Simon, measures 7 3/4 x 4 5/8 inches, pencil signed, 1914, cat: Novak-229, in an edition of 150. Simon studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague and traveled extensively throughout Europe, as well as Asia and the U.S. He lived in Paris from 1905-1913, then returned to Prague to teach at the Academy of Fine Arts. He was an exceptional painter and printmaker, and is best known for his atmospheric color etchings and aquatints.

This etching by the British artist, Sir Frank Short measures 4 3/8 x 5 7/8 inches, pencil signed, 1922, cat: Hardie-361.

This modernist lithograph is both emotive and striking. Pencil signed in the lower right. "XXV" in the plate on the lower right. "Fioretti Ste. Claire" inscribed in pencil in the lower left. Plate measures 10 x 7 3/4 on 13 x 10 inch medium weight wove type paper.

This is an original etching by British artist Martin Hardie.  This view of picknickers on the shore has an image size of 6 3/4X6 7/8 inches.  This etching is hand signed in sepia ink lower border, Circa 1930, this etching is in very fine condition, framed with archival materials.
