This is an original drypoint etching by British artist James McBey.  The title is: Thanet from Richborough, created and pritned in 1912.  The image measures 5 3/8X11 3/8 inches.  Catalog Salaman 119.  At right, the ivy-covered wall of Richborough Castle, in Kent on the southeast coast of England, juts out into sunlight. The distant shore of the Isle of Thanet is visible in the background (The Met)

This is an original engraving by French artist Robert Bonfils.  The title is Le Bar, created and printed circa 1915.  This engraving is hand signed and numbered 30/40 in pencil.  The image measures 8 5/8X6 5/8 inches. Printed on a buff toned wove type sheet, very fine condition.  His career as an engraver began in 1913. He illustrated around thirty limited-edition books and engraved more than 250 plates, which were cataloged by J.-B. Thomé in 1937. For thirty-two years, he taught at the École Estienne and the Technical College for Young Women on Rue Duperré.  (docantic)

This image created and printed in 1915 is titled: Snow-Covered Road, published in an edition of 150.  This impression was printed by the artist with his "imp" next to his artist stamp lower left corner of the border.  The image measures 11 3/4X12 1/4 inches.

Presented on cream wove paper, this original drypoint has wide margins with a sheet size of 15 1/2 x 10 1/4 inches and is pencil signed on the lower border. Born in England and educated in Cambridge, Gaskell studied art in London and Italy before studying under Sir Frank Short at the Royal College of Art.

Wonderful etching by Adolphe Beaufrere depicting everyday life on a river. Measuring 7 1/2 x 10 3/4 inches in an edition of 60, it is pencil signed with a blindstamp of the publisher, Sagot, on the lower right.

Pencil signed etching on laid-type paper c. 1929. 7 1/2 x 13 1/2 inches on 11 x 17 1/4 paper. Malcolm Osborne was known for his prints of landscapes, urban views and portraits. Between 1901-1906 he studied etching and engraving under Sir Frank Short at the Royal College of Art in South Kensington. During 1918 he was elected Associate Engraver of the Royal Academy and succeeded Sir Frank Short as the Head of the etching and engraving school when Short retired, and he was elected a full member of the Royal Academy in 1926.
