This is an oriignal  aquatint etching by British artist Leonard R. Squirrell, this etching was created and printed in 1924 in an edition of 75 signed proofs.  The image measures 11X16 1/4 inches.  Pencil signed by the artist in pencil lower right border.  Fine use of highlight and shadow making a dramatic composition. Printed on a medium weight wove type paper.   A rare image only found in Museums.

A powerful original woodblock print by American artist Isac Friedlander. The title of this work is "Entangled", it was created and printed in 1935 and is editioned as 13/50.
The image measures 13X8 7/8 inches. Printed on a medium weight wove type paper with partial watermark. One of this artists most expressive depiction of War.
Isac Friedlander (1890-1968) was born in Latvia. In 1912 he went to Italy where he met and worked with Russian artist Maxim Gorky. During this period he also received his only art training, studying etching, drawing and relief printing at the Academy of Rome. In 1937, he emigrated to New York where he worked full time as an artist until his death. He is best known for his woodcuts and etchings, and many museums have works by the artist, including the Smithsonian, Bibliotheque Nationale, and the Brooklyn Museum.

This is a fine original etching by American artist John Taylor Arms.  This etching is titled The Red Mill, also called The Red Barn, Southport.  The image measures 11 1/8X7 1/4 inches.  This pencil signed impression done in etching and aquatint was published in 1922 in a first edition of 25.  Beautiful tonal range and fine composition with extensive reflections in the water.  This etching was later printed with some color in the barn and sky.  Nicely framed with French matting.

This is a fine atmospheric etching by American artist Joseph Pennell.  The subject is: Caissons on Vesey Street, N.Y.  This image was created and printed in 1924, in an edition of 75, pencil signed, also with a collectors name at the upper edge of the sheet.  Printed on an antique laid type paper. The image measures 13 3/4X9 1/8 inches.  THis subject was the construction of the New York Telephone building, The Barclay Vesey building.  The image is in the Wuerth catalog as image number 854.

This is an original engraving by French artist Philippe Mohlitz.  This image is titled: The Abyss.  It was created and printed in 1967.  Pencil signed lower right and numbered as 28/50 lower left.  The image measures 8 1/4X7 1/8 inches.  Printed on a heavy weight laid type sheet.  Mohlitz uses the refined technique of Original engraving, in the traditional manner.  Born in Bordeaux in 1941 Mohlitz studied the techniques of engraving at the studio of Rene Delpech in Paris in the mid 1960's.

Isac Friedlander (1890-1968) was born in Mitau, Latvia. He was arrested in 1906 and imprisoned by Russian authorities for anti- Czarist Political activities from 1906 to 1912. He studied art at the Academy of Rome, Italy from 1913 until 1917. He was a friend of Russian writer Maxim Gorky. Friedlander began his printing career in 1915. In 1917 he repatriated to Russia during the Kerensky regime, but in 1929 Friedlander immigrated to the US with the encouragement of his cousin Joseph Hirshhorn.
