David Muirhead Bone


A beautiful Tuscan landscape, the image size of this etching is 5 1/2 x 4 inches, published in 1912, pencil signed. Muirhead Bone was a Scottish artist and an important figure in the British printmaking revival of the early 20th century. He was known for his atmospheric, finely detailed landscapes, cityscapes and images of WWI.

Etching, image size 4 1/2 x 6 7/8 inches, 1901, Dodgson 101, edition of about 90, plate signed l.l. "Muirhead Bone". the published edition of 90 proofs was not pencil signed.


This is an original drypoint etching by Scotish artist David Muirhead Bone.  It is titled: Fish Market no.2, Venice.  It was created and printed in 1915.  This etching is hand signed in pencil lower right border and has an image size of  9X11 1/2 inches.  A very rich impression showing a rich drypoint burr in the inking.  This image appears in the Dodgson catalog as image number 344.II.  Previously sold by Arthur Harlow in New York.
