McAuliffe was active in the late 19th century and produced public works, especially in Everett, Mass: Roman Catholic Cathedral, St John's, and Parlin Library. His specialties were maritime and religious subjects.
A lovely watercolor by the American artist, Horace Burdick. It measures 6 3/4 x 8 3/4 inches and is matted. Burdick attended the Museum School of Fine Arts in Boston and was known throughout his career as a portrait and landscape painter. He did many White Mountain scenes as well as New England coastal scenes. This image is from the artists' estate.
This pencil drawing by Jack Levine measures 5 1/2 x 5 inches. It is pencil signed on the lower right. Levine was best known for his satires on modern life and political corruption. Born in South Boston into a large family, his drawing abilities were apparent at an young age. At 14 he entered a painting program at Harvard and a few years later was employed in the Works Progress Administration. His lower class childhood was often a subject of his paintings and he became known for "telling it like it is".

This mixed media drawing by Dexter Dawes measures 11 3/8 x 10 inches on medium weight paper. Dawes summered in southern NH with its' majestic views of Mt. Monadnock, where many of his inspirations for his drawings, paintings and lithographs came from.

A fine sketch by Dexter Dawes measuring 10 3/4 x 7 1/2 inches on medium weight drawing paper. A small unfinished sketch of trees is on the reverse. Dawes spent many summers in the Marlboro, NH area drawing and painting the incredible natural beauty that surrounded him.
