This is a finely detailed etching by American artist Max Kuehne.  The scene is: New York from Weehawken, N.J.  It was created and printed circa 1930's.  The image measures 10X13 1/2 inches.  Pencil signed and titled in the lower border.  Printed on a J. Whatman medium weight laid type paper.

This is an original color lithograph by Boston artist Ture Bengtz (1907-1973)  The title is Sledding.  Created circa 1940's.  This image measures 10 3/4X13 3/8 inches.  On the back of the matting it has written, "Done from 6 stones". He used 6 different litho stones for all of the colors in this image... This litho was created in an edition of 20.  "Ture Bengtz was a Finnish-American artist associated with the Boston Expressionist school, an influential teacher at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston".

This 1903 etching by the American artist Joseph Pennell measures 5 1/2 x 12 inches, pencil signed, cat: Worth-282, Frederick Keppel label on back, artist proof, framed. Pennell was an important American etcher, lithographer and illustrator. Good friends with James McNeill Whistler, he and his wife co-authored his biography. Pennell was known for his continued experimentation with technique and style, producing cityscapes, landscapes and marine scenes.

A whimsical image by Hermine David done in drypoint with pochoir color, c. 1929. Pencil signed and numbered on the lower margin. David was known as one of the most outstanding women painters of the early 20th. century. Born and raised in Paris and at the age of 16 was accepted into the Ecole Des Beaux Arts, later going on to study at the Academy Julien. Equally well-known as a miniaturist and printmaker, she went on to have a long successful career and was awarded the Legion of Honor in 1932.

This is an original etching by American artist Harold Kerr Eby.  The title is: "The Lobsterman", it was created and printed in 1930 in an edition of 90 signed proofs.  The image measures 11 7/8X12 7/8 inches.  Hand signed in pencil this scene was along the Maine Coast.  This etching is nicely framed with archival materials.

This etching by the British artist Seymour Haden measures 7 x 10 1/4 inches, pencil signed, plate dated 1874, I/V, Cat: Schneiderman-144. Sir Francis Seymour Haden was one of the most important British etchers of the 19th century, along with his brother in law James Whistler. In addition to being a highly regarded artist he was a successful surgeon, accomplished author and dedicated angler. He was a founder and the first president of the Royal Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers, and was knighted in 1894.

This is a fine block print by Kansas artist Clara Colline (1881-1945)  The title written in pencil lower left is: Wind in the Cottonwoods.  THis image done circa 1920 is hand signed in pencil and has an image size of: 9X11 3/4 inches.  Colline was a student of Birger Sandzen.  His influence is clearly seen here.

Etching, image size 8 1/2 x 12 1/2 inches, 1931, pencil signed. Chahine studied at the Academia Di Belle Arti in Venice and then at the Academy Julien in Paris. He was a very well respected artist in his time, winning many awards and honors for his work. However his prints and paintings are hard to find, many of them were destroyed in a fire at his studio in 1926 or in a later flood in 1942.

This lovely atmospheric image by William Wyllie measures 4 7/8 x 12 7/8 inches, pencil signed on the l.l. and created c. 1920. This is a view of Greenich from the Isle of Dogs with a view of the Royal Navel Academy on the left with the domes of the Royal Observatory high in the background. Wyllie was a well known marine painter and printmaker, studying at the Heatherley School of Fine Art and then at the at the Royal Academy. At the age of 18, Wyllie won the Turner Gold Medal for his painting "Dawn After A Storm". He went on to have a long artistic career, specializing in paintings and etchings of the sea and the city of London. In this etching, Wyllie uses remarkably delicate lines and subtle tones to create an atmospheric image in this busy harbor scene.
