This is an original pencil signed mezzotint by American artist Allesandro Mastro-Valerio.  This study of two bathers at the ocean has an image size of 7X6 3/4 inches.  Numbered as 20/35.  A scarce image by this well known artist and master of the modern mezzotint.  Printed on a heavy weight wove type sheet.  He was a member of the Chicago Society of Etchers,  He is best known for his mezzotint* prints, particularly his female nudes.  His work helped to revive mezzotint as an artistic medium in the United States.

This is an original pencil signed lithograph by American artist Joseph Pennell. He traveled down to Panama in 1912 to record the building of the Canal.  He created a series of images from that trip.  This image is titled Cranes at Miraflores Lock, Panama,  Printed in an edition of only 100.  This image measures 22 1/4X16 3/4 inches on a Fabiano watermarked, laid type paper.  Sheet size is 25 1/2X 20 1/2 inches.

Etching with aquatint, image size 7 7/8 x 10 7/8 inches, 1918-1919, state VII/VIII, cat: Czestochowski-69, alternate title "Far Prospect," pencil signed, framed. Davies was a truly remarkable artist of the late 19th and early 20th centuries known for his dreamlike etchings and lithographs. In his catalog raisonne of Davies work, Czestochowski writes "In a time of social, political, scientific and artistic upheaval, Davies hewed to an unwavering inner vision, one of classically graceful figures in an eternal dance with nature." This rare, early state etching is a perfect example of the combination of classicism and modernism of Davies' work.

This is an original pencil signed etching by American artist Otto Kuhler.  The image is titled: Steamboat  Wharf, created and printed in 1925.  The image measures 8X10 3/4 inches.  "Although best known for his industrial designs, Otto Kuhler (1894-1977) is well regarded as a fine artist and draftsman. Born in Germany, Kuhler was the sole heir to his family's successful steel business, Kuhler Forges. After WWI however, the business and his family's fortune were in ruins. After living briefly in Dusseldorf, and partly due to the advice of friend Joseph Pennell, he took up etching and emigrated to the States in 1923. Otto Kuhler's etchings of begrimed industry sprang from the same optimistic response to technology that led to his colorful streamlined designs for the Milwaukee, Lehigh and other railroads in the 1930's." De Rochemont 12/33. W.M.N." This etching measures 13 1/4X8 7/8 inches.  A very rich impression done in an ediition of 75.  One of his finest compostions.
