This is an original etching by American artist James McNeill Whistler.  The title is: La Vieille aux Loques, part of his "French Set series" created in 1858.  The image measures 8 1/8X5 3/4 inches.  Signed Whistler mid right side of the image, platesigned.  Printed on an early laid type sheet.  This image appears in the Kennedy catalog as image number 21.  The 4th state of 4 before the cancellation of the plate.

A very rare lithograph by the British artist Edmund Blampied measuring 17 1/2 x 14 inches, pencil signed and numbered 3/3. Edmund Blampied was a very successful artist and illustrator in early 20th century Britain. He illustrated many books and magazines, but is best known for his remarkable skills as a printmaker. He was an important figure in the 'British Etching Revival' of the early 20th century, and was elected to the Royal Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers in 1920.

This incredible image by the British etcher, Arthur Briscoe, measures 8 1/8 x 15 3/8 inches, inked signed and numbered, 73/75, created in 1931. Briscoe studied at the Slade Art School and the Academy Julian in Paris and then spent the rest of his time sailing, becoming one of the most prominent British marine artists of the 20th century. He owned his own three ton cutter which he used to sail around the Essex coast. Also crewing on a Polish ship, he sketched every aspect of life on the boat. Most of Briscoe's etchings show sailing ships and the men who sailed them. His beautifully etched images present an invaluable historical record of the workings of the last great commercial vessels.
