This is an original Revolutionary war period engraving by Robert Pollard .   The subject is: "Lady Harriet Ackland Harrowed on the Hudson" In 1777.  This engraving is hand colored and appears to be a period printing done in London in 1784.  The image measures 15 1/4X20 5/8 inches.  The sheet has been professionally adhered to a support sheet and a few tears in the lower margin have been repaired. The borders on three sides have been trimmed to just outside the platemark.  The writing under the image appears to be complete.  The Engravers information appears just under the image: London: Robert Pollard, Brayne’s Row Spa Fields, 1784. Overall this is a very presentable engraving just as it now appears.  "A scarce engraving celebrating the pluck of Lady Harriet Ackland, shown here in a boat on the Hudson River going to the aid of her injured husband, who was captured by the Americans during the Battle of Saratoga.

Etching by Jacques Reich after the painting by Giovanni Boldini, image size 20 5/8 x 11 1/2 inches, 1916, pencil signed. Whistler's signature is etched below the image, Boldini's in the lower left corner of the image.

This is an artists proof etching by American artist John Taylor Arms.  The title is Limoges, part of his French Church Series created and printed in 1932.  This etching is hand signed in pencil with an image size of 10 1/16X13 5/8.  This image is inscribed lower right: "Beautiful impression, pulled by D.S. and J.T.A."  Inscribed also as artist proof number III.  Printed on a J. Whatman watermarked laid type paper.  A beautiful impression.

This is a fine line engraving by British artist Stanley Anderson.  The title is: The Reading Room.  This image was created and printed in 1931 and appeared in the 1931 edition of Fine Prints of the Year.  This pencil signed impression has an image size of 6 1/2X8 1/2 inches.  Printed on a medium weight laid type paper.

A richly inked drypoint from 1919. Catalog reference: Gaunt 245. Edition of 54. Pencil signed in the lower right. Plate measures 19 x 20 3/4 inches on 24 1/2 x 29 1/2 inch wove type paper. Sir Frank Brangwyn was one of the most important British artists of the early 20th century. A member of the Royal Academy, the Royal Watercolor Society, and the Royal Society of British Artists, he was knighted in 1924.

Colored softground and aquatint from 1925. Numbered 65 in an edition of 300. Catalog: Novak 432. Pencil signed in the lower right, numbered in the lower left. Plate measures 11 5/8 x 15 1/4 inches on 15 1/8 x 19 inch watermarked wove type paper. An atmospheric etching that captures the bleak weather with splashes of color. F. Simon was born in Bohemia, now the Czech Republic. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague and traveled extensively throughout Europe, as well as Asia and the U.S. He lived in Paris from 1905-1913, then returned to Prague to teach at the Academy of Fine Arts. Simon was an exceptional painter and printmaker, and is best known for his atmospheric color etchings and aquatints, such as this wintry Paris scene.

This is a very rare etching from a scarce, unpublished plate by Francis Sydney Unwin. The image size is 12 1/8 x 16 inches, 1916, pencil signed; a richly inked impression on a fine cream colored Japan paper. Unwin studied at the Winchester School of Art and the Slade School; he traveled extensively throughout Europe and spent several months in Egypt drawing the tomb interiors for an archaeological expedition. He then settled in London, becoming known for his landscapes and remarkable interior architectural views, such as this finely detailed image of the Albert Hall. Unwin died at the age of 40, after suffering from tuberculosis for much of his adult life.

This is an original Arthur Briscoe etching, titiled: "Heavy Canvas", this etching was created and printed in 1931 in an edition of 75.  The image is hand signed in pen and ink and editioned in the lower border.  The image measures 13 1/2X8 3/8 inches.  The subject shows four men making fast the crossjack of a four masted barque.  This etching is archivally framed.

This is a fine original lithograph by American artist Stow Wengenroth.  The title is: The Wild Coast, Ogunquit, Maine, created and printed in 1973 in an edition of 60.  The image measures 10 1/4X15 1/2 inches.  This image appears in the Stuckey catalog supplement number 349.  Very nice condition.

This is a fine hand signed etching by American Artist Stephen Parrish. The title of this work is "Evening, Gloucester, 1883". The image measures 8 5/8X14 inches. This image appears in the Schneider catalog as image number 77. "To the right of the mast is the tower of the 1869 City Hall, still standing, Next to the right is the sharply pointed spire of the Baptist church, now gone. At the far right are the buildings of the Rocky Neck Marine Railways." Fine use of plate tone in the sky and sea.

This is an original soft ground etching and aquatint by Austrian artist Tavik F. Simon.  The scene is: The Kiosks on the Grand Boulevards, in Paris.  This etching was created and printed in 1926 in an edition of 200, published by G. Petit, Paris.  The image appears in the Novak catalog as image number N.123.  The image measures 13 3/4X16 3/4 inches.  This etching is in the early frame with french matting.  Pencil signed lower right and numbered 6 of the edition.

This is an original drypoint etching by French artist Paul Helleu.  This view of a Woman with Hat in Profile, was created and printed circa . 1905.  The image measures  21X13 inches. Identified lower right border.  Fine condition, printed on a wove type sheet.

This is a fine example of the regionalist imagery by American artist Dale Nichols.  The title is: Company for Supper,  created and printed in 1948, sold originally by Associated American Artists in New York.  Printed in an edition of 250.  This pencil signed impression measures 9 3/8X13 3/8 inches.  Good condition a bit of old tape residue on the back of the sheet, not visible through the sheet.  Printed on a medium weight wove type sheet.

This is an original etching and aquatint by French modernist Georges Rouault.  The title is: Incantation from Le Reincarnations du Pere Ubu, This was the frontispiece The first etching from the series  Le Reincarnations du Pere Ubu, created and printed in 1928.  This is a rare hand signed impression.  An edition of 225.  The image measures 11 3/4X7 3/4 inches.  Printed on a medium wight wove type paper.
