This is an original etching by American artist James MacNeill Whistler. The title is Drouet, Sculptor, it was created in 1859, plate signed,dated and titled. The image measures 8 7/8X6 inches. This etching is according to the Glascow catalog is image 2 a. This etching appears in the Kennedy catalog as image number 55. A rich impression printed on a medium weight laid type paper. The subject is: M. Drouet, the French sculptor.' This etching came with the original label from print dealer Frederick Keppel.

This is an original etching by American artist Stephen Parrish. The title is A Gale at Fecamp, it was created and printed in 1886. The image including the remarques measures 13 3/4X15 3/4 inches. It is hand signed in pencil and also has the artist's estate stamp in the lower left border. This is Parrish's only etching with such complete remarques. Showing the influence of French artist Felix Buhot. The remarques revel Parrish's lively sense of humor, showing sketches of books with such titles as Philadelphia as a Summer Resort, Etching in Summer and other gems. This is a very rare etching by Parrish, and is from a trip he took to Fecamp in 1884.
This 1926 etching by master printmaker Arthur Briscoe measures 7 x 11 7/8 inches and is signed in ink and editioned as 38/75. Lable on backing with provenance from C.W. Kraushaar Galleries, NY. Members of the crew aboard the trawler "Guess Again" concentrate on hauling the days catch aboard. The forground figure is "Old Sam" a figure Briscoe used in many of his images. This richly inked image was exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1927. Briscoe studied at the Slade Art School and the Academy Julian in Paris and then spent the rest of his time sailing, becoming one of the most prominent British marine artists of the 20th century. He owned his own three ton cutter which he used to sail around the Essex coast. Also crewing on a Polish ship, he sketched every aspect of life on the boat. Most of Briscoe's etchings show sailing ships and the men who sailed them. His beautifully etched images present an invaluable historical record of the workings of the last great commercial vessels.
This is an original oil on canvas landscape with cows painting. Created late 19th century this painting is signed lower left: It looks like Neil..? But we are unable to attribute it to a specific artist. We are selling this as Nineteenth Century American School. The painting measures 12X20 inches and came to us in what appears to be the original 19th century gilt frame. The painting is in good shape, one tiny repair in the bottom center of the image.
This is a rare pair of Folkart Portraits of a Brother and Sister, oil on canvas, unsigned but in the style of Joseph Goodhue Chandler. Each painting measures 10 3/4X9 1/4 inches and came in a pair of 19th century gilt frames. The overall frame size is 13 1/2X12 inches. There are a few minor spots of repair and retouch. Both works could use a cleaning but they are quite presentable as they now appear.

This impression is the V/VII state. It has printed the title in the lower border as well as: "Public par L'Artiste" in the lower left and "Imp A. Delatre, Rue St Jacque 171" in the lower right. This image appears in the Delteil-Wright catalog as image number 24.
This is an original etching by French artist Georges Rouault. This image was plate 39 of his Miserere Series created in 1922. This image is titled: Nous Sommes Fous. It was printed with a combination of etching,aquatint,burnisher and roulette. The image measures 22 1/2X16 1/8 inches. It was printed in an edition of 425 printed on Arches wove type paper with the Ambroise Vollard watermark. This etching is signed within the plate lower left but is not pencil signed which was how this etching was originally sold.

This is a hand colored line engraving after J.W. Hill, engraved by Charles Mottram and published by Smith Brothers and Co. in New York, 1857. The image measures 24 1/2X38 1/2 inches. Plate signed and dated in the lower margin. " It is one of the loveliest views of Boston and its harbor, with the statehouse dome rising in the center background and the Bunker Hill Monument at far right. Printed by Mc Queen." A very fine impression, framed. It had a couple of very minor touchups, but overall in very nice condition.

This is a very fine Hudson River School landscape, oil on academy board, 9 3/4 x 18 3/4 inches, c. 1880s, unsigned, in an ornate period gilt frame. Although this painting is unsigned it is quite well painted, evidently by a very competent artist.
This is a rare etching by British artist Sir Francis Seymour Haden. This etching and drypoint is titled: The Fisherman. It was created and printed in 1864. Hand signed in pencil which is quite rare for this image. Printed in a warm toned ink, the image measures 5 1/2X8 7/16 inches. This etching is the 5th state of 5 with extensive use of plate tone in the water and sky. Haden was an avid fisherman, and apart from doing etchings and being a well respected surgeon, he spent his spare time fishing across Britain. This etching is matted and framed.
