James Gale Tyler

This is an original oil on canvas painting by American Marine artist James Gale Tyler.  This work, created circa 1900 is signed lower right, the painting measures 9X12 inches.  Housed underglass in a period gilt frame which measures 13X16 inches.  Throughout his career, Tyler painted the America's Cup race yearly.  "James Tyler was one of the most prominent marine painters and illustrators of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries".
