This is a fine oil on wooden board by American artist Charles Paul Gruppe.  This scene of a springtime river is signed lower right Ch P. Gruppe.  The painting measures 12X16 inches.  Very fine condition, recently cleaned and varnished.  Housed in a fine Period carved frame.

Gruppe.  On the back is an old label with the title: In a Dutch Canal, Delft.  This painting from circa 1900 has a canvas size of 8X11 1/2 inches.  Housed in a reproduction 19th century gilt picture frame.

This is an original watercolor and ink was drawing done for the Book Poems of Childhood, 1943.  This work was painted by American artist and illustrator Everett Shinn.  This work is hand signed in the lower edge by Shinn.  Absolutely this is the original drawing that was used for the book, the printers proof is on the back of the frame.  The drawing measures 14X24 on illustration board, very good condition, archivally framed.  This image ,  was created for the for the book, Poems of Childhood by James Riley, published by Gosset & Dunlap, in 1943. 

This is an original painting by American artist Platt Powell Ryder.  This scene of the Village Market Place was painted circa 1870, signed by Ryder lower right with ANA after his name, when he was an established member of the National Art Academy.   The painting is oil on board, framed underglass.  Excellent condition in what appears to be the original 19th century frame.  The painting itself measures 7 3/4X10 1/4 inches.  The frame itself has some chips to the corners.  

This is an original oil on canvas painting, signed and dated lower right, Possibly the work of Francis A. Silva ?  The signature is a bit obscure... This painting of Harbor Traffic is dated 1874.  The painting measures 12X20 inches. We are selling this work as 19th century American School in the style of Silva... Our price reflects our uncertainty about the authorship of this work..... Nicely framed in a period gilt frame.  Fine detail and color, this is an outstanding work of art.  

Oil on Academy Board, 12 x 9 inches, signed and inscribed "M. v. Schmaedel/München" lower right, period frame. The sitter is identified in a copy of a letter dated August 3, 1905, from Seth Mendell to William C. Davenport, President of The Machinists' Bank, Taunton, Massachusetts, in an envelope affixed to the back of the painting. Provenance: Estate of N. David Scotti, Providence, Rhode Island.

This is a fine original oil on board painting by American artist William Henry Howe.  This image of Village life in Normandy France.  A subject that he was well known for in the late 19th century.  This view of carts unloading the days catch has an image size of 9 3/4X13 1/4 inches.  The painting is signed lower left William Henry Howe. with a partial date after the name.

Watercolor on paper, signed and dated lower right, 1807, 20 x 27 inches in a gold 29 x 25 inch frame. A beautifully detailed watercolor that remains vibrant, even after over 200 years. Ramsay Reinagle first studied under his father, Phillip Reinagle, before going on to study in Italy, Holland, and Rome. Reinagle painted portraits, historical subjects, animals, and landscapes. He exhibited at the Royal Academy and the Society of Painters in Watercolours.

This is an early 20th century landscape painting, oil on canvas titled: "The Oak", it was created circa 1920-30's.  It is signed lower left corner with the initials A. F. and also initialed and titled on the back of the canvas.  The painting itself measures 18X24 inches.  A fine impressionistic view of a woodland scene with a figure in the background.  Very good condition, the artist is a mystery.  This might possibly be the work of Alexis J. Fournier...

This is an original oil on Canvas painting of a Grand Child''s Birthday present.  The painting is signed lower right corner but not easy to make out.  It looks like H. J. ..........?  The canvas measures 17X14 inches and came in a fine period gilt frame.  There is one repaired tear in the lower center of the canvas and some cracking to the paint.  Over all a very fine painting highly detailed.  Guaranteed to be   a mid to late 19th century work.  Most likely British or American origins...

This is an original oil on canvas painting of an Ox and Cart coming down the road.  The painting has 3 intials lower right, they seem to read: "W. ?. S."  Weve been unable to make out who the artist was. We feel the painting is from the late 1890's and is most likely American in origin.  The painting was expertly done.  The canvas laid on board measures 19X13 inches and is in a 19th century gilt frame.  

This is a fine original oil on canvas painting by American artist Daniel Strain 1847-1925.  This fine portrait of a Young Boy is signed upper left, and dated 1896.  The painting measures 18X16 inches.  Strain is best known for his portraits and landscape paintings.  One tiny spot of touchup, very minor.  Nicely housed in a gilt frame.

This is a fine original ink and watercolor painting by American artist Louis Orr.  This view of a Paris Courtyard is signed and dated lower right, Louis Orr, Paris, 1919.  The work measures 19 1/2X12 1/2 inches.  Very nice condition, rich color.  This painting is framed.  Orr was one of the most famous American artists in France.  He worked as an illustrator for the French Army in World War I...His works are in the Louvre.

This is an original oil on board painting by American artist Henry Mortikar Rosenberg.  This study of a museum visitor was originally in the collection of the Mobile Museum of Art, Alabama.  The painting is signed lower right in pencil and inscribed on the back.  The image measures 16X12 inches.  A few minor spots of touch up, nothing major.  A fine modernist impression.  Rosenberg studied under Frank Duveneck.
