The image measures 12 1/2X8 7/8 inches. Some waviness to the sheet but overall in fine condition, It came to us in the original Asian style frame sold by Arthur Ackermann with the original label on the back.

This image appears in the Freeman catalog as image number 97.

John Taylor Arms was one of the foremost American printmakers of the 20th century, known for his exquisite compositions and exacting details which gave his etchings a very realistic, almost photographic appearance.

Simon was born in Bohemia, now the Czech Republic. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague and traveled extensively throughout Europe, as well as Asia and the U.S. He lived in Paris from 1905-1913, then returned to Prague to teach at the Academy of Fine Arts. Simon was an exceptional painter and printmaker, and is best known for his atmospheric color etchings and aquatints.
