Framed watercolor portrait, sight size 7 1/2 by 5 1/2 inches in 12 3/4 x 10 Italian carved gilt frame. Signed and dated in the lower right corner. Inscription on the back of the frame has the artist's name, date, and the name of the sitter, Lady Adelaide Horatia Elizabeth Seymour. Lady Seymour lived from 1825-1877 and married Vice Admiral Spencer.
Corbaux belonged to the Society of British Artists and the New Society of Painters in Watercolors in 1839.

This is an original painting by American artist Julian Levi.  It is titled:November Orchard, created and sold in 1949 by The Downtown Gallery in New York.  Created using Casein on Gesso, original frame from The House of Heydenryk.  This work measures 8X10 inches, signed lower left.  The overall frame size is: 16X17 1/2 inches. Overall good condition, the frame liner has a few minor scrapes.

This is a fine 19th century watercolor painting by American artist Illustrator Granville Perkins.  This work is signed lower right G. Perkins and titled  and dated :Singapore, March 1, 1870.  This painting measures 11 3/4X14 inches, nicely framed.  The overall frame measures 13 1/4X15 1/2.  The color is rich, some old bleed through from an earlier wooden backing.  Granville spent years travelling the world.  He worked as an illlustrator for many books and Harpers magazine.

This is a fine watercolor and Gouache painting by Pennsylvania artist Edward Scirrotto.  The subject is Brinton's Mill, In Chester County.  The well known Brandywine scene.  This painting measures 12X18 inches, clearly signed lower left corner.  The frame measures 22X28 inches.  The painting is in fine condition, the frame has a few minor scuffs.  Scirrotto died very young in 1994, we feel this work was done in the early 1980's.  A beautiful study of this well known setting.

Attributed to Paul Sandby. Painting measures 5 1/2 x 7 3/4 inches. 1800's. A vibrant and energetic painting despite the gray palette. Paul Sandby, the brother of Thomas Sandby, was an English engraver and painter. He began his artistic career as a landscape painter and draftsman for the Scottish military. As a printmaker, Sandby popularized the use of aquatint, and was considered to be the father of British watercolors. In 1768 the brothers were both among the twenty-eight of the original members of the Royal Academy.

Inscription in German in pencil reads: "Wenn se Dir man blos nich erwischen - Justav!" "hab man Keene Angst ick Kenne den Rummel - ick war selba Polizeipra'sident'!" Which roughly translates to: "Don't get caught!" "Have no fear, I know the Head of Police!"

This is the third watercolor and gouache painting that we recently acquired.  All park scenes, all painted on a blue toned paper, nicely framed with archival materials.  We are unsure who this artist was, most likely one of the mid 1930's American Illustrators.  The image measures 8 1/4X5 1/4 inches. Unexamined out of the frame.  Probably a view in Central Park N.Y.
