Pencil signed "H A Webster" in the lower right. C. 1930. Catalog: Webster 105. Plate measures 7 3/4 x 10 7/8 inches on 9 3/4 x 12 7/8 inch watermarked arches laid type paper. Signed artist's proof. Plate destroyed. This print has a rich drypoint burr and dramatic use of light and shadow. Herman Webster was an American artist who moved to Paris in the early 20th century to attend the Academy Julien. There he studied under J. P. Laurens and Eugene Bejot, and was also greatly influenced by the etchings of Whistler and Meryon. He traveled extensively throughout Europe, specializing in finely detailed architectural views, cityscapes and landscapes.

Etching by the British artist Sir Francis Seymour Haden measuring 5 7/8 x 8 7/8 inches, pencil signed, plate dated, 1877, cat: Schneiderman-155. Sir Francis Seymour Haden was one of the most important British etchers of the 19th century, along with his brother in law James Whistler. In addition to being a highly regarded artist he was a successful surgeon, accomplished author and dedicated angler. He was a founder and the first president of the Royal Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers and was knighted in 1894.

"The Backyard" by Dexter Dawes measures 11 x 15 inches and is pencil signed on the lower margin. Dawes was born in Englewood, NJ and went on to study at New York City's Art Student League. He summered in Marlboro, NH surrounded by beautiful gardens with views of Mount Monadnock which became the inspiration for many of his lithographs and paintings. He belonged to a number of associations including the National Arts Club.

"The Spire of Lyme" lithograph by Dexter Dawes measures 15 1/4 x 11 1/8 inches. It is pencil signed on the lower margin. Dawes was born in Englewood, NJ and went on to study at New York City's Art Student League. A drypoint etching from 1867. First state of three. Printed before lettering. Plate signed and dated in the upper left. Plate measures 9 1/4 x 6 1/2 inches on chine colle. A richly detailed print with ecstatic, intricate linework.

Wonderful etching by Adolphe Beaufrere depicting everyday life on a river. Measuring 7 1/2 x 10 3/4 inches in an edition of 60, it is pencil signed with a blindstamp of the publisher, Sagot, on the lower right.

This is an original pencil signed impression of William Strang's etching, Death and the Ploughman's Wife.  This etching was created and printed in 1888.  It was published in an edition of 110 impressions. This image appears in the Binyon catalog as image number 116.  THe image measures 5X7 7/8 inches.  Printed on a medium weight wove type paper.

A beautiful atmospheric etching by Samuel Margolies measuring 8 1/8 x 9 3/4 inches, pencil signed, AAA label included, c. 1935. Margolies trained at the National Academy of Design and the Beaux Arts Institute. From 1935 until 1939 Margolies participated in the Works Progress Administration program as a printmaker. His work is in the Society of American Etchers and the Library of Congress in Washington D.C.
