Sir Frank Short

Mezzotint by the British artist Sir Frank Short, measuring 8 1/2 x 11 1/2 inches, pencil signed, after J.M.W. Turner, etched and engraved by the artist, 1896, intended for the Liber Studiorum but never published.

Aquatint, image size 10 1/2 x 16 1/4 inches, 1918, cat. Hardie-163, pencil signed. One of Short's largest aquatints, this scene depicts two fishermen on the Bure at Stokesby Ferry near Acle in Norfolk.

This is an original pencil signed mezzotint by British artist Sir Frank Short.  The subject is Sir Francis Seymour Haden aged 74.  Haden was the "Father Figure of the British etching Revival".  This image measures 11 1/8X14 1/4 inches.  This mezzotint was created after the painting by G.P. Jacomb Hood.  This mezzotint is in perfect condition, nicely framed with archival materials.
