This is a very rare first state etching by American artist Frank Benson.  The subject is a portrait of the American violinist and composer Charles Martin Loeffler.  It was created and printed in 1919, with this being one of 6 first state impressions, printed on a laid Van Gelder paper.  The image measures 9 7/8X8 inches, hand signed in pencil, and inscribed first state.  Very fine condition printed in a brown toned ink.  This image appears in the Ordeman catalog as image number 156.  The later published edition numbered only 20 impressions.

This is a very fine original hand colored aquatint etching by French artist Manuel Robbe.  The title is: La Tasse De The', it was created and printed in 1906 in an edition of 100.  The image measures 19 1/4X 14 3/4 inches.  Printed on a medium weight laid type paper, "Arches" watermark.  Very fine condition, hand signed in pencil in the lower right in the image.

This is a very rare early etching by American artist Frank Benson, the title of this work is: Sunset, created and printed in 1914, this image is pencil signed and numbered as 25/50.  The image measures 8 7/8X7 inches.  Nice use of plate tone in the sky and water, some uneven inking as was printed most likely by Benson.  This image appears in the Ordeman catalog as image number 26.  

This is a fine original etching  by American artist James Whistler.  The subject is: Steet at Saverne, it was created and printed in 1858.  This etching was part of the French Set, It is signed lower left,"Whistler", and also has the publishers name and address lower right edge of the sheet., "Imp, Delatre, Rue St. Jacques".  This image was created in 4 states, this one is 3/4.  The image measures 8 1/8X6 3/16 inches.  Printed on an antique laid type paper

This is a fine original color aquatint etching by French artist Manuel Robbe.  The title of this work is: La Coquette.  It was created and printed circa 1905.  It is hand signed with pen and ink in the lower right border.  Printed on a medium weight laid type paper.  The image measures 14 1/8X10 3/16 inches.  This image appears in the Merrill Chase catalog as image number 22.  A fine example of his "belle epoque" style of expression.  In a fine Foster Brothers gilt frame.

This is an original etching by Well known Belle Epoch artist Manuel Robbe (1872-1936) The title of this work is: "Parisienne", it was created and printed in 1906 in an edition of 200, published by Georges Petit. The image measures 19 1/2X13 1/2 inches. It is signed in pencil lower left within the image. A fine impression, previously sold by Merrill Chase galleries. Robbe studied at the Academie Julien and the Ecole des Beaux Artes in Paris.
With his hand application of color no two images look exactly the same, a very painterly technique.

Etching and drypoint, early proof of this rare image, image size 7 7/8 x 11 7/8 inches, 1911, cat: Schwartz-76, inscribed "probedruck" (test print) l.l. and signed l.r. both in red crayon, blindstamp l.l. just below image. Corinth began his art career studying at the Academy of Fine Arts Munich and went on to study under Bouguereau at the Academie Julian in Paris. He then returned to Germany and became a member and then president of the Berlin "Sezession".

This is a fine color aquatint etching by French artist Manuel Robbe.  The title of this work is Cabinet de Toilette.  It was created and printed in1904 in an edition of 65.  It is hand signed by the artist in pencil and inscribed bon a tirer. It was published by Edmond Sagot in Paris.  The image measures 17 1/2X11 3/4 inches.  Nicely framed with archival materials.

THis is a fine color aquatint etching by French artist Louis Icart.  The title is: La robe de chine,( The Silk Robe) created and printed in  1926, published by Les Graveurs Modernes, 194 rue de Rivoli, Paris.  The image measures 15X18 1/4 inches.  Hand signed in pencil lower right also with the windmill blindstamp and copyright information in the upper left corner.  Very rich color remains, nice condition..This image appears in the Holland catalog as number 276.

This is an original drypoint etching by American artist Mary Cassatt.  The title is Denise holding her Child, created in 1905, this image is the first state of two, printed on an Ivory  laid type sheet.  The image measures 8X5 3/4 inches.  Unsigned as issued.  This image appears in the Breeskin catalog as image number 204.  

This etching by Arthur Briscoe measures 7 7/8 x 11 7/8 inches. Ink signed and numbered on cream laid paper, 1924. Cat: Hurst-85. Framed. Briscoe is known as one of the finest marine etcher of the 20th. century. He owned his own three ton cutter which he used to sail around the Essex coast. Also crewing on a Polish ship, he sketched every aspect of life on the boat. He studied at the Slade Art School and the Academy Julian in Paris.

This is a fine early printing of the well known etching, Bibi Valentin by American artist James M Whistler.  This etching created in 1859  is impression II/II before the plate was damaged.  It came to us with the original Kappel label on the back.  A fine rich impression printed on a thin laid japan type paper.  Signed  and dated within the plate.  Glascow 34.

This is a fine portrait study by British artist Gerald Brockhurst.  The subject is James McBey the well known British etcher.  This etching was created and printed in 1931 in an edition of 111.  This pencil signed impression measures an image size of 10 1/2X7 1/2 inches. This etching was Illustrated in  Fine Prints of the Year, 1931.  Cat. Fletcher 69.

This is a fine original etching by American artist John Sloan.  The title is: Sculpture in Washington Square, created and printed in  1925 in an edition of 100, printed with a blue toned ink.  Pencil signed titiled and numbered in the lower border.  Printed on a medium weight wove type sheet.  This image appears in the Sloan catalog as image number 218.  The title refers to the Garialdi statue by the Washington Arch in Washington Square.

This is a fine example of the important etching by Jean Baptiste Corot. This etching is titled: Enviorns De Rome, it was created in 1866, this proof is the second state A. of three. Printed on Holland Paper, This printing had the addresses of:" Cadart and Luquet Editeurs, 79 Rue St Jacques 303 Paris" A rich impression, Catalog Delteil 6 II/III. Framed, previously sold by Kennedy Galleries in New York.
