 Michael Willmann (1630-1706) Three-quarter length portrait of an aged bearded man, gazing downwards,after Rembrandt, etching c. 1660/70, on fine laid paper, 16,5 x 12,8 cm, 6 1/2X5 3/4 inches, copy in reverse after an etching by Rembrandt (B. 260, New Ho. 84). The etching was listed as a work by the Rembrandt-school (Rovinski Elèves 31, Bartsch-Claussin II. 111.31); in New Hollstein the sheet is attributed to Michael Willmann now, who was a collaborator in the studio Rembrandt. Very rare.  Thread Margins, two stains in the upper center and right edge, apparently old glue residue.

This is an original engraving with etching by French engraver, Pierre A. Aveline (1702-1760)  The title is L' Ete, it was created after the painting by Francois Boucher  This view of sleeping Puti, was created and printed circa 1750, printed by "Paris Ches Charpentier, rue st jacques au cog".  The image measures 11 3/8X8 7/8 inches.  The platemark measures 13X9 3'/4 inches.  Printed on a medium weight laid type paper.  We feel this is from the original 1700's printing and not a later restrike.

This is an original mezzotint by European artist Wallerand Vaillant (1623-1677) This is a portrait of a woman of wealth, it was created and printed circa 1670. The image measures 12 1/2X10 1/2 inches. It is plate signed in the lower right border. Vaillant was one of the first old master printmakers to use the technique of mezzotint. Printed on an early laid type paper.

This is an early engraving by Bernardus Baron (1696-1766) Portrait of "John, Count of Nassau-Siegen and family", This engraving was created and printed in 1761. It is after the painting by Van Dyck. The engraving measures 20 1/2X18 1/2 inches, trimmed on the three sides, a tear in the upper right corner, not into the image area.Printed on a heavy weight laid type paper.

This is an original engraving by Paulus Pontius after the painting by Anthony Van Dyck. The image size is 9 5/8 x 6 3/4 inches, c. 1700s, inscribed "Ant. van Dyck pinxit" and "Paul. du pont sculpt" in the lower left margin, with the title and a phrase in Latin below the image, with the original Kennedy Gallery label. Stalbent was a Flemish landscape painter and friend of Anthony Van Dyck when this portrait was painted. This engraving is printed on a very early laid type paper with margins trimmed to approximately 1/4 inch outside of the plate mark, some foxing as is to be expected in a print of this age.
