This is an original drypoint etching by German artist Ernest Oppler.  The title is Tanzen Paare, created and printed circa 1920, this impression is hand signed in pencil and numbered 56/100.  The image measures 5X7 inches.  Printed on a medium weight wove type sheet.  Oppler is best known for his studies of Dance and Theater.

This fine cityscape by Anton Schutz, created in 1930, measures 14 x 9 3/4 inches. It is an artist proof, second state and pencil signed. Schutz worked with Joseph Pennell at the Art Student's League and was known for his east coast cityscapes.

This illustrative page from "The Great Mirror of Folly", 1720, was a volume of text with 76 engraved plates, documenting the international joint-stock scandal instigated by John Law. This great "Theater of Folly", representing the origin, progress, and downfall of the South Sea Bubble in France, England and Holland, is a collection of engraved plates with caricatures of the schemes of John Law and the Mississippi Company that lured clients to invest in establishing colonies in Louisiana and Canada with fatal results. This is an original pencil signed wood block print by German artist Peter Trumm.  The image measures 9 5/8X12 1/2 inches. printed in Germany in 1922 for the very rare "Die zweite Ganymed-Mappe" portfolio of "Das vierte Jahrbuch der Marees Gesellschaft", published in Munich by Marees-Gesellschaft, R. Piper & Co. This impression is one of the deluxe signed edition of 300 printed on thin japon paper.

The image was made on the Columbia Line's Bogota or Columbia. The Haitian crew used soft volcanic tufa to scrub down the wooden decks. The bulldog, center, was the vessel's mascot.
