This is a life time impression of the well known etching by Pierre Auguste Renoir, titled: Femme, Nue Couchee, Nude woman reclining facing right.  Created and printed in 1906, this impression done on a laid type sheet with the Fortuna watermark from the original printing.  The image measures 5 5/8X7 5/8 inches on a buff toned sheet.  Very fine condition.  Very light even toning over the image only, possibly as originally presented.  The image appears in the Melot catalog as image number R-14

This is an original lithograph by French artist Georges Rouault.  This is a portrait of Gustave Moreau, the teacher and mentor of Rouault.  It is known as the portrait in the little hat.  This pencil signed impression is the 3rd state of 4 with the edition of 25.  It was later published in state 4 with an edition of 350.  This lithograph was created and printed in 1926.  The image measures 9 1/8X6 3/4 inches.  This image is cataloged as F. 57.

This is a fine hand colored etching by British artist Elyse Ashe Lord.  The title is Kite Flying, created and printed circa 1925.   This pencil signed impression was sold by Arthur Ackermann in New York.  This came to us in the original Asian style frame with the Ackermann label on the back.  The image measures 12 7/8X18 inches.  The overall frame measures 20X26 inches.  Very fine condition.  Printed on a thin Japan type sheet.

This is an original pencil signed etching by British artist Augustus John (1878-1961)  This etching is titled: Rambling By the Lake, it was created and printed in  1909 this impression is numbered as 23/50.  The image measures 7X5 inches, printed on an antique watermarked laid type paper.  In the lower border its annotated Plate no. 116 and then titled and editioned.  Very nice condition.

This incredible image by the British etcher, Arthur Briscoe, measures 8 1/8 x 15 3/8 inches, inked signed and numbered, 73/75, created in 1931. Briscoe studied at the Slade Art School and the Academy Julian in Paris and then spent the rest of his time sailing, becoming one of the most prominent British marine artists of the 20th century. He owned his own three ton cutter which he used to sail around the Essex coast. Also crewing on a Polish ship, he sketched every aspect of life on the boat. Most of Briscoe's etchings show sailing ships and the men who sailed them. His beautifully etched images present an invaluable historical record of the workings of the last great commercial vessels.

This is an original mezzotint engraving by Dutch artist Jacob Gole (1660-1737)  This image, The Drawing Lesson was created after the painting by Godfrey Schalcken.  This image identified in the lower border has an image size of 9 3/4X7 7/8 inches.  Printed on an early laid type paper, some foxing but overall very fine condition.  It has a collectors seal in the lower border, "H de t stat".

This is a very rare original drypoint etching by French artist Jean-Louis Forain, the title is C'est Fini, this drypoint was created and printed circa 1890, there was a later Verticle composition with the same name.  This image measures 9 1/2X12 inches.  Printed on a medium weight laid type sheet,.  Weve been unable to find another example of this scarce drypoint.  Hand signed in pencil lower right.

This is a gorgeous original lithograph of ancient Greek ruins by Joseph Pennell, from his series "In the Land of Temples", based on his travels through Greece and Italy. The image size is 16 1/2 x 21 3/4 inches, published in 1913 in a very small edition of 50, printed on a watermarked wove type paper, pencil signed. In his book "In the Land of Temples", Pennell writes of this print "Swept away is everything, mysteries and all— all that remains is the great pavement on which stand the stumps of columns; yet I doubt if it was finer ever. And the long drive out over the sacred way, the long, quiet day; and the long drive back, with the Acropolis growing more and more majestic in the twilight, were perfect."
